A simple explanation.. they paralegal I talk to had the nerve to call the client I was there to talk about .. her name I believe is Kelly after I asked her several times if this meeting was confidential she looked me in the eyes and said yes not 1 but 2 or 3 times .. she lied no sooner than I left t...here she made a phone call ... DO NOT TRUST THIS LAW FIRM !!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to let everyone know just how GREAT Ms. Huff (paralegal) and Attorney Ortiz was in the process of my divorce. Not to get into the particulars of my situation, I can truly say they were extremely patient, nice and informative making what could have been a horrible experience a pleasant ...one. I would refer anyone who unfortunately would need a divorce attorney to Melissa Ortiz and her team. I can not THANK them enough.

I have used Melissa for my divorce and fought for full custody from a different relationship. When obtaining this attorney I shopped around, and did my research, she is the best lawyer for the money. Resonable price, low retainer and she will work with you. Office staff is very knowledgable, and me...t all of my needs and where very understanding. She always let me no what would probably happen and told me what to expect, reminded me to calm down and to be realistic. My fiancé at the time consulted with McMahon, first name I will not disclose, he was very non punctual, waited days before, multiple times to inform us of our court date, charged her a 3000$$$ up front retainer, and every time we met up with him, he asked us for another 1500$$$. He advised her that if she wanted to win her case to leave me! When she used him court we felt like he didn't fight for us and, really just wanted to agree to terms which we did not hire him for. Melissa is a bulldog who fought for us and advised on what to say and what not to say, every time. I would refer her to everyone. Ask for flat rate attorneys all know each other!!!

I had previously been represented by a terrible lawyer. Once he realized he was in way over his head he brought in Melissa to "consult" on the divorce. Once Melissa came into the picture it was clear that she was far superior in terms of her knowledge and her ability to move the process of my divorce... along. She spends tons of time in the courthouse which can make it difficult to communicate with her directly, but it also means that she knows the judges and state employees in the courthouse really well. She always made me feel at ease there (it's an intimidating place) and managed to resolve my divorce for a fee that I felt was reasonable given the issues involved. I never felt that things were out of control with her - - she always projected confidence and let me know that things were under control. Plus, she backed that up with being dynamite in the actual courtroom... If you think your divorce might actually go to trial, I doubt there is anyone better than her! Thank you Melissa!!!

I paid Melissa a retainer fee, and couldn't get a hold of her again. Her office never returned my calls, and she finally just sent me a letter saying that she would not be able to represent me. Despite numerous calls to her and her office for a refund of my retainer, I never heard from her again an...d never got a refund. I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the TX Bar Assoc. for misconduct. I also found out, later, that she never even initially filed with the courts to represent me...even though she told me she had. What a scam!
