Look elsewhere

Only leaving a 1 star review because I can't leave a 0 star review. James sucked the retainer dry in no time with no work to show for it and asked for it to be refilled multiple times with no progress. I ended up firing James because he couldn't write in clear concise words. After firing James I was ...able to settle my case in 2 days while representing myself. Do yourself a favor, read the reviews and find a more reputable attorney.

Joke

I was going to hire James for an issue and I showed up twice to his office. After waiting 20 minutes the first times I was told we were going to have to reschedule. (thanks for giving me a heads up before i took time off work to show up). The second time a week later I waited a half hour before he... showed up to a scheduled appt. During the meeting I felt he was arrogant and was more interested on his phone than my issue so I opted not to use him. He just didnt impress me.

This is a dubious, unfounded review. Beginning November 1, 2017, I worked as an AAG and Managing AAG, prosecuting child support and child custody matters for the Office of the Attorney General. My final attorney-client meeting would be no later than August 2017. Thus, this post is equally fatuous and contrived. Produce documentation of the meeting. Undoubtedly, meetings are rescheduled in every profession. Why was the meeting rescheduled? Why would you return to meet with an attorney, who gravely injured you? Initial consultations are free of charge. They are costly for both the attorney and prospective client. Not all meetings generate an attorney-client relationship. Simply because there is not a budding connection between a potential client and attorney is not injurious or unexpected. Often, we meet with many professionals (lawyers, doctors, dentists), before confirming a good fit. Your expectations are neither measured nor mature. A disingenuous and visceral approach to commercial transactions frustrates a positive attorney-client relationship. I hope your life has taken a more positive, productive turn!

James Warner Was A Great Attorney

James Warner was a great attorney for me, took care of everything in my case. He even kept me updated with everything going on, and would answer any questions I had regarding my case. If needed I would work with James Warner again. Great lawyer

Simply unworthy

Want everyone to know that everything below is factual no exaggeration. I live in South Carolina and my ex-wife serve me with papers for back child support. And I legitimately owed her some. I knew I needed good representation so I Googled attorney in San Antonio James Warner name popped up so I ca...lled him. On the phone he was very convincing to use him he needed a retainer of $3,500 and was kind enough to let me send him 2000 immediately and the balance of 1500 within 2 weeks. I felt so much better after talking to him and we set a date to come to his office. My family and I drove 1250 miles and we were a half hour early to our appointment. Can you we have an appointment at 4 and finally came out at 5 to tell us we were going to have to reschedule for the next day as he had to be in court. No big deal we were in town for a few days. Finally the next day we went everything. His paralegal at the time and mind you he went through three paralegals during our 6-month relationships, seemed more knowledgeable than him. Anyway we got a game plan together and scheduled a court date for July 25th which was a Wednesday about a month away. He told me together all the information we have to include all of my tax records. We sent a bunch of stuff via email and brought all our tax records with us. We had an appointment to meet that Monday prior to our court date. During that month every time we had a question it would take for 4 phone calls to get a return phone call. A week prior to our court date I absolutely could not get a hold of them and we drove 1260 miles to be at his office that Monday for him to tell us that he needed more time to digest all our stuff tax records excetera. So he filed a continuance. A wasted trip! so he followed a continuance a wasted trip. A new court date was set for September time frame so again as we gathered more stuff or had any questions we had to make 4 to 5 phone calls to get a return call. A couple weeks prior to our court date I would start getting more phone calls from him as he was obviously working on our stuff and every time he talked to you you would feel belittled. He wouldn't talk to you he will talk down to you. Finally something came up can't remember exactly but a continuance had to be filed and our new court date was in December. Couple weeks prior to our court date James calls us to let us know that we had to seek further representation he felt since our opponent attorney was a female that I needed a female to represent me and recommended me to to an attorney in his same building which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. After he sucked $5,000 out of us he booted us to someone else. As clients we have the right to get an itemized invoice or Bill to this day I have yet to receive. Every time I would call him he would tell me he would email it to me when he would get back to the office finally he quit taking my calls. Whether he is a good attorney or not I don't know we never went to court all I know is that he went through three paralegals during our 6-month time frame and from what I could tell was very disorganized. Maybe he had too much on his plate I don't know but I would absolutely wholeheartedly not recommend him to anybody. James Warner I hope you read this because there is no way you can deny any of the above. Anybody want to hire him email me at [email protected]

Very arrogant and condescending

I met with Mr Warner through a friend that said he was excellent. He was completely full of himself and acted like he didn't want to listen. He cut me off several times and really was rude.

Martin was not a client, or potential client. He was the responding party in a suit for divorce, where I represented his former wife against him. Unfortunately, AVVO does not screen or vet those who draft comments, prior to publishing them on this website. Thus, any disgruntled, vindictive and/or dishonest party may disparage a skilled attorney, at will. Based on the outcome of a lawsuit, a wounded, spiteful party-opponent, can plant a fatuous and contrived commentary to forever diminish an attorney's otherwise stellar AVVO rating. AVVO should develop and implement a screening process to discourage personal attacks wholly unrelated to the legal services of the target lawyer. Yet, if I had not professionally and successfully represented my client against 'Martin', then Martin would not have posted this vindictive, spurious comment.

"Although I have never worked directly with James Warner officially, we formerly worked in the same office and would frequently discuss various legal matters. Also, I observed a high level of dedication he showed to his practice. On numerous occasions, I would see James working late into the evening, and sometimes on weekends, obviously putting his clients' well being ahead of other matters in his life. In short, James Warner is knowledgable, experienced, and most of all, passionate about the representation he provides his clients. I endorse James Warner 100 percent!"
