We had a really positive experience with David Butterbaugh. With a short timeline, we needed an attorney who could help us negotiate and prepare several documents, including a premarital agreement and a trust, and someone who could be a capable intermediary and advocate for us in negotiations and re...fining these documents. We found David to be more than capable of doing so. In addition, we found David to be easy and pleasant to work with. He was accommodating with our schedules and needs, which we appreciated. He was generally available and accessible via phone and email, which we appreciates. He made it a point to understand our perspective on matters and to work within the parameters we requested. Our final bill ended up being more than expected, but we also knew that David was putting in more hours than initially expected on our work. Overall, we were delighted with David. ... We found David through an internet search and then an interview or introductory conversation. We are glad we found him and would definitely recommend him to others. In fact, we hope to work with David in the future in updating a will and in future estate planning.

We had contacted David ten years ago about providing for our disabled daughter via a Special Needs Trust, and found him to be personable and competent at that time. Our situation changed over the past decade - our other daughter became an adult, our alternate Guardians/Executors/Trustees changed, an...d I retired from full-time employment, so we thought it best to update our Wills and trusts. We contacted David again, and he volunteered to meet with us at a convenient time. He still doesn't have a private office where clients meet with him - he shares a building and front desk staff with many other professionals (some attorneys, some not) and meets with clients in a shared conference room, just as he did ten years ago - but the arrangement works acceptably, and I certainly understand the need to keep overhead low. He remains personable and provided us with true expertise. When I wanted to do away with the trust we had created in 2009 for my non-disabled daughter because she was no longer a minor in 2019, he brought up some excellent points about why it might better protect her interests to continue the trust for her despite the fact that she was now an adult. We sincerely appreciated his wisdom. He kept the lines of communication open during the process, using a "client portal" communication platform, and uploaded the documents through that platform with little delay. We had a chance to review and make further suggestions prior to signing the originals, and once signed, he sent the originals to us in a matter of days. He also scanned them and sent them to us so we would have electronic copies of our Wills and POAs, instead of making old-school hard copies. All in all, we had a very positive (second) experience with David, and would retain him again if and when we again need to update our Wills.

David is an excellent estate planning attorney. He quoted a price for his work and that is exactly what we paid. There were no extra charges for phone calls and face-to-face meetings. David thoroughly explained all legal documents in terms that I clearly understood. We are confident that we now have ...solid estate plans. We highly recommend David!
