Dishonest

In my case, attorney, Philip C. Mani defaulted on a six figure, written purchase contract which he produced and I agreed to. He later took delivery of property, without my permission, which was nowhere near completely paid for, thus diminishing a good portion of our retirement. His defense for not h...onoring the written contract was insisting that an oral contract, which never existed on my part, was in place via a third party. The first I was made aware of this “oral contract”, with ridiculous and inconsistent terms, was long after he defaulted and I pursued legal action against him. His initial excuse for defaulting was that the gas and oil industry was performing poorly. I was never approached, would have never approved of or agreed to this nonexistent “oral contract” for many reasons. The large sum of money involved and with terms that extended over several years would not be a valid or enforceable oral contract had one really existed due to legal limitations. As an attorney who writes contracts for a living, he should have known better than to depend on a nonexistent, ever evolving and inconsistent “oral contract” when a valid written contract was already executed and could have been amended. Instead, he changed over to this new excuse or strategy in defense of his actions. From what I deem to be reliable information I was able to gather online and in the media, I surmise that he was involved in similar dealings, from a failure to perform on contract standpoint, in regards to land leases in Brenham, Kansas. Online posts and televised news reports featuring angry land owners, who claimed they were not compensated after signing agreements with this attorney, is all too familiar to me having been similarly victimized.
