also known as J. Wats
I am from San Antonio, Texas. I love my job. My career began at the District Attorney's Office as an unpaid intern. After passing the bar exam in 2012, I was hired by Judge Susan Reed and also worked for Nico LaHood. In a relatively short amount of time I was promoted to handle felony cases.
My trial experience ranges from charges like DWI & Assault-Family Violence to Possession of a Controlled Substance; Burglarly-Habitiation; Sexual Assault; and Murder. I have particiapted in over fifty trials.
I treat every case like a trial case. My staff is tremendously helpful and we do our best for you and your loved ones!
We realize this is your life and we work accordingly.
Outside the office I love to: Cook, read, exercise, hike, swim, and run. Go Spurs Go!

Sheer Gratitude
I am blessed to write this review for Mr. Watkins. Nobody comes to hire a criminal defense lawyer on a winning streak. Yet at no point did Mr. Watkins instill in me anything but a sense of radical compassion, professionalism and hope. Because of his work, my felony case has been dismissed. But mo...

Great Experience! He really cared about me and my situation and fought my case until justice was served.
Jonathan Watkins and his team were attentive, thorough, and really took an interest in me and advocating on my behalf. They constantly kept me informed. If I had a question; he knew the answer or found the answer promptly. Me. Watkins is completely professional, yet down to earth, and makes you feel ...

Pre-Trial Diversion/ Felony Case
I hired Jonathan Watkins as my lawyer soon after I had gotten a felony. Jonathan from the very beginning was encouraging, inspiring, uplifting and brought a whole other level of energy and enthusiasm which was unknown to me. It was superhumanesque. I had been feeling extremely down on myself and had ...

"Hustle & Heart. We used to intern at the San Antonio DA's office together and Jonathan was always hard working and kind. If I have clients or friends who need defense work I refer to Jonathan. He goes the distance and his client service is second to none."
"Jonathan has always been a professional, knowledgeable and reliable attorney. His clients' are his number one priority and truly benefit from his hard work and vast criminal law experience. If you are ever in need of a criminal defense attorney, I would definitely call Jonathan Watkins."

"I endorse this lawyer. I've known Jonathan for a few years now. As a prosecutor he fought every case diligently and with great passion. I have seen him bring these same great characteristics to his private practice in Civil matters and Criminal mattes."
"Jonathan is a fierce advocate for his clients. He is caring, genuine, and an all-around excellent person and attorney."
"I endorse this lawyer. Jonathan is highly knowledgeable and a class act. He will fight hard for his case while maintaining professionalism at all times."
"I've worked with Jonathan on several matters. When he was prosecuting felony family violence matters here in Bexar County it was clear that he knew he stuff but he was also reasonable in his evaluation of a case as well as what a proper punishment looks like. He will undoubtedly use that same experience and skill to help his clients as a defense attorney. If I had a case pending, I would trust him to handle it well."
"I have worked with Jonathan on several different cases over the years and his knowledge of the law and skill in the courtroom continue to impress me. Jonathan and I have been both trial partners as well as adversaries, and he is just as impactful in each position. Most importantly though, he has the invaluable skill of being able to genuinely connect with jurors on a level that puts him at a distinct advantage above defense attorneys and prosecutors alike. He is someone who is a true advocate for his clients, not someone trying to make a quick buck. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone in need of an attorney for a criminal defense case. I am proud to endorse Mr. Watkins."
