Not prepared & timid

In 2020, my wife was summoned to court with her Ex-Husband over child custody and child-support. The ex-husband owed over $80K in back child support and he filed with to court to gain custody of the child and reduce or eliminate child support. His argument was to say that she was an unfit mother and... he should have custody instead. We provided Trisha lots of documentation & evidence, organized into categories (Child Abadonment, Co-Parenting Issues, Spousal Abuse, Child Support Payments, Our own Financial Statements, Lists of Witnesses, etc.). It was all organized in a nice file box and itemized for her on a cover sheet. We also gave all of this to her electronically as well, where every file was named based on the type of document it was and a small description. In addition, we provided her a timeline of events that happened since the separation and divorce. We provided all of this about a week in advance prior to the court date during our initial consultation. We paid her $5000 up front to get started on the case. When we went to 1 hearing, she was not prepared and she asked to postpone the temporary orders hearing with the court. The court agreed, but we had to pay the ex-husband's flight costs and hotel. This was not acceptable to us, but since she already had the $5000 retainer, we had to keep her or forfeit the retainer. The next hearing about 2 weeks later, we asked to do a strategy meeting with her before the court hearing, but she did not meet with my wife to discuss the strategy or potential questions that she may get asked because she was too busy. As my wife went into the court room, the opposing council called my wife as their primary witness. Trisha should have asked the judge or objected to this, but she didn't. So my wife didn't get the normal examination by her own lawyer, and cross-exam by the opposing lawyer, and then clarification back to her lawyer. It was opposite. In addition, Trisha did not side with my wife at all. She was on the ex-husband's side because he is a Dr. Trisha did not ask the ex-husband key questions to show that he is purposely taking on lower paying jobs so he wouldn't have to pay child-support. Trisha was so timid during the entire court proceeding. Almost looked afraid to ask tough questions to the Ex-Husband. The ex-husband said that he has paid up all of his child-support and we have documents from the Attorney General's office showing that he was behind by $80K. She just took his word for it and didn't present the evidence to the judge that he has been purposely skipping out on payments. We had his job history where he was the medical director of a facility making $400K a year and purposely quit positions working as a "ad hoc" doctor. She didn't push any issues or work to prove he was lying, not coparenting, alienated the child from mom when he had him in the summers, etc. It was a terrible disaster of an experience with Trisha. In the end, my wife kept custody, but the ex-husband, who is a Medical Doctor, child support payments went from $2100 a month to $1400 a month. He also doesn't have to pay for medical anymore. It was a disaster because there was no strategy or preparation by Trisha Padia on our case. I would not recommend her for difficult court cases.

Adept and extremely reliable!

When it comes to attorneys, Trisha sets the standard for what one should expect. She is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about law, and is highly reliable. Once my case was in her hands, I was absolutely worry free. She maintained an open line of communication, kept me current on any developmen...ts, and was always available if and when I needed her. Her work ethic definitely sets the bar and she exceeded any expectations I had. We need more attorneys like Trisha!
