Child Support/Visitation Rights

Last year I went to Denise Martinez for advice on child support and visitation rights. Denise was very informative and helpful with my concerns. After my free consultation I chose to hire her, and within two weeks my child support case was settled. Denise answered all of my questions and then some, ...I'm still able to contact her via email with a quick response. I highly recommend Denise Martinez, she took all of my worries away and if I needed to hire her again I would.

Civil Custody

I have recommended Denise to two very close friends. Denise is knowledgeable and pro active. Her assistant is also very attentive and makes sure that your are always able to contact Denise. She is professional and actually cares. She is also very reasonable with her rates

Military do not go here

Now that Denise and Neftali catered to the father entirely, I have my son MORE OF THE TIME, am NOT RECEIVING CHILD SUPPORT, and the father MISSES HIS SCHEDULED DATES TO HAVE WITH HIS SON. Lemme explain… I had a medical separation from the AF. Anyone who has been through the process knows it takes ...6 months to complete and the entire 6 months you don’t know if you are going to be separated or not. I told the father this information and that I’d be moving back home with our son. When the process was over and I was given 10 days to wait for my separation paperwork I told the father that it was official and I’d be leaving with my son to go home. Neftali R calls me and accuses me of never telling the father that I was leaving. It turns out the father once again lied to his lawyer about what was actually happening and the Neftali R once again fed into it. In reality I had been pushing the father through txt to finish the child custody process for awhile because he was dragging his feet. If I wanted to leave without telling anyone I would have. I also confronted the father and he admitted over txt it was a lie. Neftali had no regard to what I was saying and catered to the father 100%. I had good intentions but the father was able to get over on these lawyers (Neftali and Denise) with whatever lie he could conjure up. Not only did they accuse me for something that never happened, Denise wanted me to give up my benefits with the VA so that the father could have benefits. The father only has our child for the fraction of the time and will get benefits from the military. I am retired why is it not appropriate for me to have the simple benefits for myself and my son? Denise and Neftali got everything completely wrong. Treated my situation like the father was the victim the entire time. In reality the father was absent for the first year of our sons life. Didn’t keep up on our sons hygiene, left our son with random people, and wasn’t feeding him at decent hours. Neftali after hearing this said “he is a good father”. Fathers just have to be present to be great they don’t have to actively care for their child. IF YOU ARE MILITARY…DO NOT GO HERE. They don’t understand military process. They are not professional and take advantage of younger clients. They don’t listen to what you have to say and do whatever they please regardless of what you want or need. THEY VALUE THE FATHER MORE THAN THE MOTHER… regardless of the involvement or care that the father exhibits with the child. I regret going with these lawyers Neftali and Denise. I am worse off now that I have this agreement and I am not getting the support I need for my child.

Disappointed

After an assault I was admitted to the hospital. My sons father filed paperwork while I was in the hospital due to the depression I had from the incident. There is no abuse or neglect and it was obvious that the lawyers could see that I am a fit mother. The father did very little in the first year of... my sons life. Told Neftali R. that his father wasn’t keeping up on hygiene, leaving my son with random people to go out with his friends, and not feeding Carter at decent times. The father also admitted to not taking care of my son properly. The response I got from Neftali was he is a good father. Since that point all decisions were catered to the father. Any complaint the father had was catered to. The father also lied a few times to his lawyer about things that can be proven untrue from txt messages. Once Neftali or Denise spoke with the father and his lawyer they contacted me as if they already deemed it all true. I was talked over, corrected, and disrespected for things that didn’t even happen. It was extremely frustrating to be treated as if I’m a bad person when I was the one emotionally abused and left to cater to my son alone for a year. I wish the lawyers would seek facts first or even ask for proof once they hear complaints from an opposing party. I would suggest not making assumptions or speaking on opinions based on other cases you have handled. I would also suggest that you ensure younger individuals seeking help have another person with them so it gives you less room to treat the client however you please. The service is not just for legal representation but for simple respect for your client. Make them feel safe and well taken care of rather than the enemy.
