Highly recommend!

Larry Catlin has helped me multiple times over the past several years. He is quite knowledgeable regarding family law and I have consulted with him about other areas of law. Larry is up front, tells you exactly how things are going, what you need to do and what to expect. He does not sugar coat an...ything. I have the utmost confidence in Larry's ability to fight and win your case. His fees are reasonable and he works for every dime he's paid. He returns calls in a timely manner, even on weekends. I have recommended Larry to several people. People have told me that you don't want to be on the opposing side of Larry! I believe this to be true!

Larry is a dinosaur

It took Larry 3 years to give my ex-wife 80% of our combined wealth. It would have taken longer but I wrote a letter to a judge that helped move things along. We didn't even have children together! After he takes you as a client he is in no hurry to move things along. Don't expect a call or an em...ail. Should I even have to mention how over rated Larry is?

great family law lawyer

Extremely knowledgeable, was honest told me what the whole process could look like possitive or Negetive. saved me money on my case by explaining the process whenever I had questions. Returned calls with en a timely manner if he wasn't in the office when I called. May seem pricey to some people maybe... even more than other lawyers but with something so dear to you such as your children why would you not want to ensure your getting the best representation? Definitely recommend him to anyone who asks.

Larry needs to retire and stop pretending he cares about people

Larry has been doing family law in Brazos County for a long time. His reputation there is that he's the best...so I hired him. My ex hired the "second best" atty in the county. Honestly, I felt that Larry traded my case with the other atty where he agreed to "loose" my case and the other one would... "win". I feel that since they go head to head so often and they are both super greedy and lazy they decide ahead of time who will win x case and who will loose and neither one of them have to work hard and honestly for their clients. Larry took me to a mediation 1,000% unprepared even after I kept calling him to prompt him to help me come up with a strategy for the mediation. Then when we get to the mediation he kept asking me about my finances and what was liquid and what I could sell. At the time I thought it was strange that he was so focused on finances and NOT my children. Now I can see the real reason for those questions was so he could decide when he (and the other atty) could wrap up my case at the exact moment the money ran out. On the way to this particular mediation he said that we would get to the location early so we could prepare...then when we got there he spent those 30min in a "private conference" with the opposing atty. It's my opinion that is where the horse trading happens and they decide the winner and looser of their mutual cases so they don't actually have to WORK for their clients. Oh, and don't expect any communication with Larry. You'll call him and NEVER get him on the phone. And he'll call you back in the next day or so and if you don't answer tough luck...he will not call you again on your issue or leave you any kind of detailed msg. I could say more but I can't right now. The Family Law legal system in Brazos county is severely broken from top to bottom (yes, I said TOP). I'm waiting until my case is 1,000% transferred out of that crap-hole look-a-like of justice / county before I make my next move against the WRONGS that go on there that happen so often they have became "normal" for nearly everyone working in or on family law in that county. I'm waiting because I have no doubt that the powers that be there will retaliate against anyone who attempts to lift the lid and expose their racket. Yes, there are protections for whistle blowers, but I have ZERO faith in any chance justice from our justice system and will not put my children at the mercy of that system. So I wait for my turn. Larry is one of the oldest and a pretty dam good sized cog in the wheel of injustice in Brazos County. If you want to get traded like a horse and ridden HARD and put up wet than hire Larry Catlin in Brazos county. Then again you may get him on a "win" day and have no worries. I guess the question is DO YOU FEEL LUCKY? Oh, and one more thing. Do a public records search on how many cases Larry currently has. You'll be shocked. Then ask yourself if you think there is any chance for this old guy to actually focus on your case when he has so many others going. This is simply a business for Larry. He couldn't care less about his clients. They guy has ZERO empathy for anything other than getting paid.

not so much

Would not listen to my thoughts and concerns...Pushed my divorce thru when I told him numerous times I did not agree with the terms of the divorce. Told me that my hearing would just be a continuance come to find out the decree went before the judge. 10,000 dollars later and on a 3500 contract..Fir...ing him and retaining another attorney to help me fight for my rights! TERRIBLE representation
