Anne B. Darring

Her resume says she was an attorney for 25yrs. Consequently she's a judge of, by and for attorneys. Not children or their parents. She allowed opposing attorney to break the rules of civil procedure and strategically delay the case. It took a year and a half to even get up to her bench because of re...set after reset after reset. Then she says she doesn't know the details of the case. In what other sector can someone have a project for a year and a half and not even be familiar with it. Opposing attorney used whiteout to falsify a doctor's note. I pointed this out and nothing was done. Allowed final order that essentially made it impossible to see my child. I'm discouraged to try to file again as it seems utterly futile. A once GREAT parent-child relationship severed.

Attorney put her own needs before the client. Attorney failed to satisfy her end of the contract. During time attorney represented me, she was consistently distracted by her judicial campaign. Attorney's staff was unorganized, unprepared, and incapable of providing proper litigation support. Atto...rney verbally admitted that she and her staff "dropped the ball on me," but never really accepted responsibility for her lack of preparation, nor her staff's errors. Ultimately, attorney is responsible for handling client's case, not the staff. Attorney blamed staff. Attorney did not attend mediation with me. However, husband's attorney was in attendance with him during mediation. I received an email from attorney's paralegal late in the day before mediation that attorney would not be attending mediation (no reason given at that time). Attorney did not offer to send associate attorney in her place. No direct contact from attorney the day before mediation. Client was the one that initiated contact after she was a no show at mediation. Discovered later that attorney could not attend mediation because she had a campaign fundraiser to attend. Main contention point during divorce was not addressed by my attorney, and was not properly addressed during mediation because attorney was not there to fight for me. Result: Unfavorable outcome at mediation for me. Attorney's staff routinely sent documents to me for review which contained numerous errors; errors that could have been avoided if they had just opened up my file and reviewed it prior to preparing the documents. I spent a ridiculous amount of time correcting errors, and resending documents back to staff for correction, only to have documents returned to me with same and more errors. Final orders had significant errors. Attorney said she reviewed final orders page by page, but Attorney didn't catch/realize that there was a significant error when I mentioned the error in the possession portion of the order. I constantly had to double check the work of the attorney and her staff to ensure that the orders were correct. I did not pay attorney to do her work for her.

I originally found Anne by her billboard in my town. I hadn't considered retaining a lawyer and thought that my divorce could be handled amicably. That is what my husband suggested we do until I was served one afternoon by his lawyer and came to learn that I would soon have to give up my home and p...retty much be left with nothing. My 13 year old son and I were trying to make it alone with me not making enough to purchase my home from him or my car. Anne gave me insight to the ways of divorce that I otherwise would never have known. I now know that if I were to do as my husband suggested I would be without a home or a car. She helped my through a very hard time in my life through her compassion and knowledge. It was also a blessing to have another woman understand the pain women go through when their husbands tell them he wants a divorce.

Ms. Darring, represented my family in a chid custody case, when my son's father tried to take him from me within a month after he was born. She was my second attorney and had to work twice as hard to fix the problems my first attorney had done on the temporary hearing. Ms. Darring took care of my cas...e with compassion, hard work, excellent representation and after a week long Jury Trial 12 jurors decided to rule in my favor. Ms. Darring had won the case for me. The closing argument Ms. Darring gave at my trial was remarkable, she truly captured the reasoning behind why the best interest of my son would be served with him living with me. She always advised me on my case with honesty. I have recommended several people to her and every one of them have been extremely happy with her services. I will always recommend Ms. Darring to anyone needing an attorney even you the reader.
