No show at mediation due to judicial campaigning while opposing attorney for spouse was present.

Attorney put her own needs before the client. Attorney failed to satisfy her end of the contract. During time attorney represented me, she was consistently distracted by her judicial campaign. Attorney's staff was unorganized, unprepared, and incapable of providing proper litigation support. Atto...rney verbally admitted that she and her staff "dropped the ball on me," but never really accepted responsibility for her lack of preparation, nor her staff's errors. Ultimately, attorney is responsible for handling client's case, not the staff. Attorney blamed staff. Attorney did not attend mediation with me. However, husband's attorney was in attendance with him during mediation. I received an email from attorney's paralegal late in the day before mediation that attorney would not be attending mediation (no reason given at that time). Attorney did not offer to send associate attorney in her place. No direct contact from attorney the day before mediation. Client was the one that initiated contact after she was a no show at mediation. Discovered later that attorney could not attend mediation because she had a campaign fundraiser to attend. Main contention point during divorce was not addressed by my attorney, and was not properly addressed during mediation because attorney was not there to fight for me. Result: Unfavorable outcome at mediation for me. Attorney's staff routinely sent documents to me for review which contained numerous errors; errors that could have been avoided if they had just opened up my file and reviewed it prior to preparing the documents. I spent a ridiculous amount of time correcting errors, and resending documents back to staff for correction, only to have documents returned to me with same and more errors. Final orders had significant errors. Attorney said she reviewed final orders page by page, but Attorney didn't catch/realize that there was a significant error when I mentioned the error in the possession portion of the order. I constantly had to double check the work of the attorney and her staff to ensure that the orders were correct. I did not pay attorney to do her work for her.

The complete professional

I would hire Anne Darring again in a heartbeat. I was overwhelmed with the custody situation I was facing. I had interviewed, consulted with, and considered atleast 7 other attorneys prior to meeting with Anne. Though many had the creditials, the office, the staff, the look, the pricetag, or the w...ords, I walked from each conversation feeling uncertain, nervous, and untrusting of the attorneys. Never once did I feel other attorneys were hearing me and mostly just felt they were condescending and minimizing my very real, personal concerns. After consulting with Anne, I hired her on the spot. I walked away believing my case was as important to her as it was to me. I believed as left her office she and her staff would undoubtedly fight for what was just and fair. Never was once did I doubt her sincerety. The best characteristic possessed by Anne and her staff was their ability to educate and empower me to endure an awful situation. Anne and staff are honest and forthcoming, they "shoot from the hip", so to speak. I would and do recommend people to Anne Darring for all family legal needs.

Poor service

I used Anne Darring's legal service for a child support mediation case. I had to withdraw her from my case because she refused to contact me at all. There were two court dates that they neglected to tell me about and may case was almost automatically dismissed for lack of activity. My bill was very h...igh, by comparison for work that didn't seem to be done. I do not recommend her or anyone in her office.

Best family law attorney in Galveston County

Anne represented me in my divorce/custody case. I had been represented by one attorney before her and switched to her based upon a referral of a friend. My case was heading downward until Anne came in and picked up the pieces. Her and her staff kept me informed and if I ever wanted to speak directly ...to my attorney I did not get the run around as I did with my previous attorney. After a long hard fight I kept the custody of my children and was awarded a fair property division. Thanks Anne for caring for my case like you did!
