Child Custody Modification and Enforcement
John C Maher was a wonderful attorney. He completed the task for a reasonably cost in a very timely matter. I would strongly recommend John C. Maher for your family laws needs. He is honest and straight to the point. He is there there to get a the job done not to see how many billable hours he can create.

Car Accident Case
Did a great job on my car accident case. I did not have medical insurance and he was able to get me the medical care I needed, handle the property claim and kept me fully informed. GREAT JOB MAHER

Outstanding
hired Mr. Maher to help me with a complex family issue. When I met with him, he was direct and honest. He answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood the process. As the case evolved, I was able to access Mr. Maher very easily as he had given me his e-mail address and personal phone number. Communicating with him was never a problem, and he would schedule appointments with me at my convenience...even meeting with me on the weekend when I was off work. While the issues of divorce and custody of children are personally painful, Mr. Maher explained where we were going, and truly helped me through the process. I learned that lawyers don't guarantee results, they are like doctors. You give them your problem, and it is there job to work with you to heal you. That is what Mr. Maher did. While I may always have emotional scars from the divorce, my healing process was quicker, and less painful because of the attention and services Mr. Maher provided. Thank you John!

Don't waste your money
We hired Mr. Maher since he was referred to us by a friend who used his services before told us he was reasonably priced. Once hired, he was very difficult to get ahold of, dismissive and absent. He did not return my calls, or emails and was late for court. I don't think he is very knowledgeable as he could not give one direct answer. I made an appointment to meet with him for a sit down and he was unknowledgeable about the case or who I was or why I was there even though I communicated back and forth with documented emails with his legal assistant. He became very hostile when I asked for the answer legally in black and white and resorted to he did not want to do any research, he was withdrawing from my case and threatened to call the police to escort me out. He has zero ethics as he said he would refund my money and he has not.

Look elsewhere
I hired John out of a recommendation of my mother in law. When I came in for a consultation I was explaining to him everything that has happened with my daughters father so I could get advise on what I should do. In the middle of me talking he cuts me off and says "So what are you wanting me to do? Why are you telling me all this what do you want me to do?" Well I wanted advise on what my options were...I ended up hiring him because he did end up answering my questions and told me he would offer termination for a step parent adoption and if not we would go from there. We went to our first mediation together but I did not get much advise from him whatsoever, "you slept with him and had a kid so deal with it" is not advise. We ended up agreeing on several things, SAFE program, supervised visitation every other weekend, etc. With the child support John requested that he send his check stubs to verify pay. I emailed 3 times, called twice and still have yet to get a reply whether or not this was done.. Keep in mind the mediation was in Oct. 16 and its Feb 17. This has happened several times where I would attempt to reach out via email to follow up on something that was supposed to be done with the other party and never got a response. I went to talk to John about my case with my mother and husband because my mother is the supervisor for the visitations and there were several comments that have been made that made my mother have concerns for the safety of my daughter once she goes by herself to her fathers house. John refused to answer any questions. When my mother asked questions about the safety and well being of my daughter, he stated that he did not need to respond and that he didn't have time to research properly on my case. He claimed my mother was verbally abusing him but he was the only one verbally abusive raising his voice in an angry manner to my family, but most importantly a client of his. He asked us to leave and told us he was going to call the cops and told me he would refund me $500. My husband went back after the whole fiasco to talk to John and he told my husband that he did not realize that this case needed much effort and he was only helping me out because he "felt sorry for me", along with insulating my mother and calling her a b****. When hiring an attorney you need someone to fight for your case, not only that but your child(ren). You should be able to express your concerns and get advise. Not insulted.
