Philip Joseph Hundl

Philip J. Hundl is the founder of Land Rights Law, PLLC.  Philip's primary focus is representing landowners facing property condemnation in eminent domain actions.   Philip has recorded a number of videos to help landowners understand the condemnation process and their rights as landowners.  He’s also established a website devoted to condemnation rights for Texas landowners. 

In addition, Philip focuses on other land litigation including land partitions, easement and boundary disputes, as well as real estate and commercial transactions.  Philip represents private individuals, family farming and ranching operations and clients in a variety of industries including oilfield services, banking, real estate investments.  He has also served as Special Master to the state district court and is a certified mediator specializing in land disputes. Also since 2006, Philip has represented the Catholic Union of Texas, the K.J.T., a fraternal benefit organization, as its State Attorney.

Before returning to his hometown of Wharton, Philip practiced law with the international law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP, now Norton Rose Fulbright, in its San Antonio and Houston offices, primarily in the areas of products liability, commercial litigation and international arbitration. He received his Juris Doctorate law degree from the University of Denver, College of Law and is admitted to practice law in all state courts of Texas, and in the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Federal District Courts of Texas.

Philip is a 1988 graduate of Wharton High School, attended Wharton County Junior College and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Poultry Science from Texas A & M University in 1992. While at Texas A & M, he was a member of the 12th Man Kick-Off Team, received a varsity letter in football and was named Aggie Student – Athlete of the Week. Prior to becoming an attorney, he managed production operations, sales, marketing, distribution and technical service activities for Tyson Foods, Inc., in Mexico and in other parts of Latin America for Cobb-Vantress, Inc, a subsidiary of Tyson Foods. Through his work experiences in Latin America, he attained fluency in Spanish and conversational skills in Portuguese, which remain useful skills in his daily law practice.

In addition to his legal practice, Philip has held leadership positions in many service and professional organizations. Philip is the past President of the El Campo Little League, Wharton County Bar Association, and the Boys and Girls Club of Wharton and a past director of the El Campo Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture. Currently, Philip is a life-time member of the Texas A & M Letterman’s Association, a member of the El Campo Rotary, Wharton County A & M Club and American Agricultural Law Association. He has also been a member of the Pro Bono College of the State Bar, State Bar College of Texas, and the World Affairs Council of San Antonio, Free Trade Alliance of San Antonio.

In his spare time, Philip enjoys training and competing in Masters Track and Field meets (decathlon, sprints and high jump) and has achieved Masters All-American status in hurdles and sprints.
