Sharing My Experience So Others Don’t Go Through the Same

Sharing for transparency. I don’t want what happened to me to happen to anyone else—especially while grieving the loss of a loved one. I entered into an agreement with a law firm after a consultation that felt reassuring. I was told everything I needed to hear, and based on that, I paid $3,000 in... good faith, trusting I would receive the help I desperately needed. But once payment was made, the support stopped. I didn’t receive any follow-up, guidance, or real communication. It truly felt like a bait and switch. When I started asking hard but necessary questions—questions I had every right to ask—instead of getting answers, the firm filed a motion to withdraw from my case. They walked away without ever addressing the concerns I brought up. I’m not here to bash anyone personally, but I am here to encourage others to protect themselves: • Ask the tough questions • Get clear timelines in writing • Understand exactly what you’re paying for before you move forward with any legal services The lack of empathy I experienced was heartbreaking—especially during a time of grief. I share this in hopes it helps even one person avoid the emotional and financial stress I went through while dealing with this law firm.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
