I used Mrs. Jurist for an LLC setup. She was very professional and provided clear and prompt communication throughout the entire process. I would recommend that you use her for your LLC setups and I look forward to working with her more in the future.

Knowledgeable and Professional

I was referred to Attorney Jurist by another attorney to protect my rights in a property I inherited. Attorney Jurist told me what to expect and handled my case so professionally. She was knowledgeable and quick in responding to my laundry list of questions. She made me feel safe and protected. I def...initely recommend her.

Not a Positive Experience

Engaged the Jurist Law Group (JLG), comprised of LeNatria Jurist and a second attorney, for a builder warranty dispute resulting in a mediated settlement. The settlement included repair of some items and a monetary settlement for attorney fees/items the builder was leaving as is. During mediation my ...attorney agreed to a fee cap equal to attorney fees ($1,720) listed on the mediation worksheet. After the mediation I messaged my attorney stating that I had been billed roughly $600 in excess of $1,720. My attorney replied in writing “the additional money may be remaining in your trust account. Anything left over will be refunded if that is the case.” After signing the settlement agreement, my attorney notified me it was her last day, she was handing off to Ms. Jurist, and although she previously agreed to cap her fees, I would be billed if there was additional work. After that, there was no follow up by Ms. Jurist to check if the repairs had been made or the settlement received. I was then refunded $28 of the roughly $600 remaining in trust. I messaged JLG through their client portal questioning this. Next, JLG closed my case and portal access was revoked. I then sent an email and left a message with their answering service regarding billing. I didn’t receive a response. The builder didn’t complete all repairs, so I messaged JLG through their website a few weeks later stating that I required assistance closing out my case. Although I had previously attempted to reach JLG regarding billing without success, my portal access was then reinstated, and I was asked to deposit a new $5,000 retainer. I received a message that portal access would again be revoked if $5,000 wasn’t deposited within 2 days. Following this I was able to schedule a call to discuss billing. During the call and in writing, JLG notified me there was no proof of a fee cap, the funds would not be returned, and nothing could be done until I deposited $5,000. Following the call, I sent an email notifying JLG of the message my attorney sent confirming funds in excess of $1,720 remaining in trust would be refunded. I then received a message from JLG stating that this conflicted with the JLG attorney fee agreement and there would be no refund. Portal access was again revoked. I then sent an email to JLG stating I would report them to the State Bar if I didn’t receive a full refund. Following that email, Ms. Jurist requested a call. During our call, I notified her that her actions were unethical: the agreed upon attorney fees were not honored, there was no attorney hand-off, and the case was prematurely closed. She stated JLG didn’t receive my multiple billing messages and assumed the case was closed so there was no reason to follow up to ensure I received the settlement check and that repairs were completed. She stated my attorney didn’t remember capping fees to those listed on the mediation worksheet. My attorney should have reread her notes, the portal message, or mediation worksheet to review our written agreement. Although I provided the message from my attorney confirming return of funds in excess of $1,720, Ms. Jurist decided to refund only a portion. Based on this experience, I ended up reporting her to the State Bar. Unfortunately, the State Bar dismissed it as a fee dispute to be decided by a local Bar Association. My concern is not the amount over billed, but the way Ms. Jurist actively revoked portal access twice when billing was questioned and then was unreachable until the prospect of new work arose. Then she requested a new retainer that was 5x greater than the original without knowing what services were requested. Once she was shown confirmation of a fee cap, she continued to refuse release of funds until notified I was contacting the State Bar. In the end, I successfully brought the builder warranty dispute to a close on my own. Although others may have had a different experience with Ms. Jurist, mine was not positive.

Mr. Thurner - At The Jurist Law Group, we take our clients’ concerns very seriously. Because client satisfaction is a priority to us, we employ systems and procedures designed to manage client relationships. Part of managing client relationships is setting both client and firm expectations at the outset of our representation, as this improves our service to our clients which enhances the client’s overall experience with the firm. Each client, prior to retaining the firm, receives an Attorney Employment and Fee Agreement which serves to summarize and confirm the terms and scope of our representation, including our method of billing. During the pendency of your case, you continued to be billed in accordance with your Attorney Employment and Fee Agreement - without protest. However, once your matter had been resolved, and after expressing your appreciation for the quality of services rendered, you informed our staff that, as a courtesy, the attorney handling your case had agreed to cap your fees at the settlement amount through the date of completion of the Settlement Agreement. After we confirmed with the attorney that the courtesy was extended, you were refunded the difference between the amount billed and the Settlement Agreement. We also confirmed that you were advised by the attorney that, once the Settlement Agreement was finalized, any additional services would be billed in accordance with your Attorney Employment and Fee Agreement. In response, you informed the attorney that you did not wish to pay for post-settlement services and would be handling additional matters on your own; so, after ensuring that settlement funds had been disbursed to you, we provided notice to you that we would be closing your file. We also invited you to reach out should you need further assistance. When you later returned for additional assistance, our operations team set an appropriate retainer based on historical data and scope of work. It is unfortunate that your experience was not a positive one. We do accept the reality that, even when we do the right thing, for some it is never enough. We appreciate your consideration of this firm for your legal needs and want to thank you for allowing us to be of service. We wish you all the best.

Efficient Efficient and Efficient. Just the BEST!

I contacted Ms Jurist, for work for my business as a foreigner. She set off from day one, even though I called late in the afternoon. There were times I responded with emails late at night only to get a response within minutes afterwards. She always seem to working no matter what time of day or (nigh...t). The service she provides is very professional and you get that feeling of a personal touch as I never did interact with her receptionist, except for the first time I called. The service is THE BEST. I highly recommend Ms Jurist for anyone looking for a Lawyer who can deliver under pressure and yet charges the most reasonable rates you can get around Houston. Thanks for everything
