also known as Candice Schwager, Candice Leonard Schwager
I graduated in 1997 Cum Laude in the top 10% of my class and served as an editor of Law Review, brief writer and research assistant to Professor W. David East (published article in Southern Methodist University Law Journal), brief writer to Professor T. Gerald Treece for the Varsity Moot Court Team and clerked with the prestigious First Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas. I believe in mentorship and have chosen mentors / senior attorneys in the top 5% of the practice Statewide (SuperLawyers) at the best firms to work for and with so that I learned from the very best. Few lawyers value excellence or have passion in what they do. It is all about the money for them. My philosophy is very different. I am all about PEOPLE, CHILDREN, THE ELDERLY, FAMILIES, and making legal services affordable so that everyone has access to justice in Texas. Far too many people are priced out of justice and that is simply unconstitutional.
After 10 years working for top firms, both big and small boutique firms, plaintiff and defense, including State Rep. Craig Eiland, Mills Shirley, and King and Spalding LLP, I formed SCHWAGER LAW FIRM and began working in family law, guardianship, and special education, partnering with some of the best attorneys in Texas in those fields. Clients should never pay for an attorney to "learn" or pratice, which is why I rarely fly solo without very senior lawyers to frequently consult. I have advocated for special needs children and formed a nonprofit, ATTORNEYS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN to help parents financially challenged afford lawyers. In 2010, I formed ELDER LAW ADVOCATES nonprofit for the same purpose and took to social media with fervor.

I live in California. I have law suits in Houston and although i have never retained Candice that has recently become a thing of the past. I have nothing but disdain for attorneys as a general class but there are a few exception. Candice Lee Leonard is one of of the latter. I have consulted with Cand...

Candice went beyond the call of duty in representing me in a civil matter which involved a matter that our government and especially the Courts dismiss because it is complicated, personal, and is easier to dismiss than confront the issue. The petition submitted was pure genius in its construct, it i...

Candice was a tremendous resource in my struggle to get a grip on the situation I have been dealing with. Her honesty and good intentions are a breath of fresh air in a brackish legal environment.

I run a charity Justice 4 Every1, NFP and Candice has helped me pro bono on many, many issues of civil and human rights. She knows her case law and is a tireless advocate for civil rights and human rights abuses in and out of court. She practices law to make the world a better place.
