An inept, emotionally unstable attorney who uses personal and financial information for her own benefit

I had a very disappointing experience with this attorney, and based on my experience, I would not recommend her, not only for family law matters, but for any type of legal matter where professionalism, emotional control, communication, and sound judgment are important. One of my big...gest concerns was her highly emotional and confrontational behavior. She had conflicts with the judge, at times did not appear to listen to or follow the judge’s instructions, and often allowed personal emotions and disagreements to interfere with my case. I also experienced very late phone calls, missed or delayed deadlines, and communication that I found unprofessional and unpredictable. My case was a divorce and child-related matter. However, instead of keeping it focused as a family law case, I felt that she turned it into what seemed like a criminal matter without any evidence to support treating it that way. This created unnecessary stress and made an already difficult situation much more complicated. Another major concern was billing. There were calls that lasted for a very long time where she would discuss my case but also spend significant time telling me personal stories about herself and her children. She called me unprepared, remained completely silent on the line, and made me wait; furthermore, she charged me for services she didn’t actually provided. I was then billed for this time, which I found extremely inappropriate and unfair. I also experienced serious difficulties with communication between her and my husband’s attorney about finding mediation set up. She couldn’t do it and called me telling about how my husband’s attorney is bad. At one point, because of disagreements and her strong personal opinions, she became extremely upset, told me that she would not work with me, and abruptly hung up the phone. I think her behavior is not appropriate. I was also very uncomfortable with the way my personal and financial information was handled. I provided sensitive personal and financial information during discovery because I trusted that it would be used for my legal case. Based on my experience, I felt that some of this information was being used for her own personal purposes, which made me lose trust in her. There have also been major concerns regarding her understanding of Texas law and her handling of attorney-client confidentiality. On multiple occasions, situations arose where confidential information was not properly protected, which has completely broken my trust in her ability to handle this case safely and professionally. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking for another attorney. I would not recommend her for a family law case or, personally, for other legal matters where calm judgment, professionalism, and emotional stability are essential.
