Lawrence Dietlein assisted me with probating my mother’s estate when she passed away in Houston, TX. I live in Atlanta, GA and needed expert advice and assistance locally. As independent executor, the best decision I made was hiring Lawrence. He is very knowledgeable about Texas probate requiremen...ts. He clearly communicated what my responsibilities were to be, what his were, and how the process was likely to go. In fact, the probate process occurred exactly as he advised. He recommended early on that I have a clear communications plan with the beneficiaries (my siblings), so they would know what was happening behind the scenes and would have confidence that their interests were being properly addressed. This advice turned out to be very helpful, as I received virtually none of the delay tactics and resistance that I had anticipated during this very emotional period for my family. The communications plan started with Lawrence’s clear communication to me of the Texas probate process. We established a go-forward plan and also had contingency plans in the event that a beneficiary disagreed. That helped me explain the benefits of being responsive to my siblings. Lawrence is a trusted, knowlegble advisor. We appeared before the judge in probate court, and the process went exactly as Lawrence had advised. Lawrence was honest and responsive throughout the process. I never felt that I was bothering him with questions or concerns or that I was not his most important client. He was always immediately available to answer my questions. Most importantly, I felt Lawrence was always honest with me. I never felt that anything was done at my expense or not in the best interest of the estate and the beneficiaries. When we were winding up the estate and making the final distributions, he estimated the cost of drafting and filing the final notices to the court and thereby accepted the risk associated with any unforeseen delay (i.e.: since the estate assets were then fully-distributed.) This was further demonstration to me of his integrity and willingness to do the right thing for his client. Lawrence was the attorney I chose to probate my mother’s estate; however, he was not the first attorney I used in the state of Texas. I previously needed assistance with advanced directives and a living will. The experience I had with that attorney was completely different than my experience with Lawrence (and thus why I did not use his firm for the estate.) I only mention this, because I have first hand, personal experience with working with someone I trust (and I absolutely trusted Lawrence) and with someone I could not trust. In a nutshell, Lawrence explained the process to me concisely and logically. The process went according to plan. He kept me apprised of our progress and he charged the estate a reasonable fee for his valued services. The best decision I made in the whole process was retaining Lawrence Dietlein.

Lawrence Dietlein represented me when I served as the Independent Administrator for my aunt's estate in Houston. I live in California and with Lawrence's excellent advice and assistance, I only had to make one trip to Houston. Lawrence is honest, efficient, pleasant and above board in every category.... I would recommend Lawrence without hesitation for Estate and Probate matters. I cannot imagine having been the Administrator without Lawrence's good counsel.
