Jason Oxner is a co-founding partner at Oxner Legha Law Firm

Attorney Jason Oxner is a Canadian citizen who moved to the United States on an academic and athletic scholarship in 2002. Jason graduated from Trinity College in Connecticut in 2009, following which, Jason attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where he was an associate editor on Law Review, elected as Mr. Thurgood Marshall School of Law, a Real Property tutor, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the top 5% of the class of 2013. After receiving his Juris Doctor, Jason received a scholarship to attend St. John’s University in New York, where he obtained his LL.M. in International and Comparative Sports Law.

Prior to co-founding Oxner Legha, PLLC, Jason interned in the Athletic Department at West Virginia University, where he worked directly under the Athletic Director and securing a minor league baseball stadium agreement among other major transactions. Jason then moved back to Texas and began his litigation career in personal injury and business litigation at the prestigious law firm, Abraham Watkins.

Jason continued his business law background and went onto work for Baylor College of Medicine where he represented doctors and researchers at St. Luke’s Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital during the negotiation phase of new drugs and devices with pharmaceutical companies. Immediately prior to starting Oxner Legha, Jason created the civil and probate department at a small law firm, where he found himself litigating major multi-party cases.

Jason, his wife, Kelly, and their son, Carson, live in Houston with their three cats. Jason continues to play hockey, serve as the Director at Large to his Homeowners Association, is an adviser to the Nova Scotia Business Institute, and other volunteer and board memberships.

Jason practices: Probate Law, Wills & Trusts, Debt Defense, Business Formation, Business Law, Personal Injury, Real Estate, Civil Litigation, Guardianship, and Estate Planning..

Highly Recommend
I consulted with and hired Mr. Oxner to write a new will following my divorce. He is a perfect combination of a knowledgable lawyer, an attentive listener, and an effective communicator. He heard my concerns, my wishes, and then reviewed my divorce papers. He gave me options that covered all of my needs and explained the pros and cons of each option. When I popped up with new information that I had failed to share at the beginning, he very patiently discussed any implications that may arise. His patience is endless. As a client, I felt calm and confident in his ability to do a thorough job. His staff is excellent and the process of virtual consultation was flawless and time efficient. If I have any legal needs in the future, without a doubt, this is the law firm I will be using.

Inspirational
I imagine virtually anyone reading this recalls the famous Jurassic Park line of John Hammond that ends with “the bloodsucking lawyer.” As a child, I giggled. In adulthood, I laugh hysterically. It’s sad, but lawyers -much like those in law enforcement- are not always held in high regard (often for good reason). By the time you’ve finished reading about my incredibly long journey (that finally ended in the competent and compassionate hands of Jason Oxner and his staff), you’ll likely have moved on. So, I’ll say it now and hope you keep reading: you found your champion. He is the “hero lawyer” you see in movies -one of the rare few that seems to embody the heartfelt words engraved at the base of the Statue of Liberty. I quite literally had another lawyer tell me “I think I can help you [for $250] -bring me what you’ve got and we’ll go over it.” He was a total charlatan. Jason never asked for a single penny from me, and was LITERALLY the reason I pocketed nearly $20,000 -simply by invoking a clause in my insurance policy I didn’t know existed. I plan to send him a thank you with a check... but it’s important to know. That is who you are doing business with, when you contact Oxner Law. You are working with a firm that puts more thought and energy into integrity and customer satisfaction than STAYING IN BUSINESS. It’s mind-blowing, but it’s true. I cannot thank them enough for their help. If there was a “general practitioner of law,” I’d recommend Jason and his firm for literally everything -family, criminal, tax, corporate... ALL of it. There are no safer or more trustworthy hands, than theirs.

Outstanding Experience with Medical Research, Academic & Faculty ByLaws
Jason has significant experience in contract review for medical research grants, as well as HR issues that come up in faculty transactions and contracts. Within several minutes into the meeting, I understood the legal framework necessary for responding to a potential contracting university.
