Mrs Funchess has handled my divorce and my husbands child custody case. She was very reasonable as far as payment and was always available when I called to inquire about each case. She completes her work in a timely manner and doesnt give you the run around like others. She is very honest and profes...sional otherwise I wouldnt have come to her to handle a second case.

Very surprised to see these bad reviews about Ms. Funchess on here. Monica has worked on several successful cases for my family. Maybe there are multiple lawyers out there with this name in the Houston area or idk. In my case I had a divorce with no kids or property involved. I paid up front cash on ...Thursday & all the paperwork was filed on Friday down at the court house. Monica took care of all the loose ends. She is a very honest lady & will not take your money if she does not think legal action is needed (yes this happened to me also). I definitely have & will continue to recommend Monica Funchess to my friends & family.

Ms. Funchess is the most unprofessional attorney I have ever encountered in my life. She was opposing counsel on my family law case, which I won so there are no sour grapes here whatsoever. Without going into her absolute rude disposition once you refuse the laughable "deals" she proposes, her unprof...essional conduct goes far beyond that. After losing to a pro se litigant (yes, I got the judgement I sought IN FULL, representing myself w/right on my side), on at least three occasions she failed to show up to court (due to alleged payment disputes w/her client), the last of which there was mention of a sanction. Not sure what, if anything, ever came of it but the judge's frustration with both attorney and client was more than apparent.

when I hired this attorney she told me that my case was easy and in the bag, well a little over a year later no progress in my case and I am losing in some areas. Also its right before christmas and she demanded a payment or she was going to drop my case so I had to give her a payment (kids present... money) which I think is professional misconduct. Please everyone be very careful dealing with this attorney.
