Ehh I'd do my research before hiring her

She did not keep me informed with my case, my family would call and Her "assistants" would tell them that she'd return the call as soon as she returned to he office, well at never happened, she'd go out of town and return 3 days (no joke) before my court hearing only to ask for a continuance. Honestl...y felt like a joke, she planned for all this stuff to go down, well everything failed, she said she has contacts here and there, well nothing happened, I paid for a criminal case representation and she charged me 1500, I had to hire a second attorney which did what she had tried to do, he only charged me 500. She's s joke don't hire her, look around first

I am sorry for a bad review of my firm. I provide excellent representation to my clients, and I have requested verification of this review, as it does not sound like any case I have handled, and I have never received a client review such as this. Protecting the attorney-client privilege of the utmost importance to me. As this review is anonymous, please contact my office so that we may discuss the matter.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT HIRE ANN OR HER FIRM TO REPRESENT YOU IN A CONTESTED DIVORCE OF ANY KIND, IF YOU DON'T WANT

This is an honest review that has been long overdue. In 2022, I hired Ann E. Kennedy to represent me in my contested divorce, but she never took my case seriously nor effectively represented me because I am Black and an immigrant. On the day of my mediation scheduled for Ann, my so-called lawyer, and... me to meet with my Ex, his lawyer, and the Mediator, Ann never showed up at the meeting until many hours later. She only sent a young kid who is NOT even a paralegal, let alone a litigator. The clueless boy had no idea what to say or do. The Mediator asked him many questions, but he couldn't answer any and doesn't even know anything, for real. Much later, Ann showed up and talked too much, exchanging pleasantries with the mediator as old-time friends catching up and all that, stating that she had another mediation scheduled for the exact same date and time, and right after that, she disappeared again and never showed up until mediation was over. I was utterly disappointed and crying afterwards. I had no representation, yet I was paying a lawyer for legal representation. Ann, why schedule another mediation for the exact same time and date, when you were the one who did the scheduling that works for all parties? What broke the camel's back for me and still hurts my life to this day is that everything that was agreed upon during the mediation was not captured by the mediation documents nor the final divorce decree document. Meanwhile, the mediation meeting was recorded! In spite of the hurtful fact that during the mediation, I had no lawyer to help me and negotiate anything on my behalf, and I ended up just accepting whatever my Ex and his lawyer wanted, my own dumb lawyer literally omitted 2 of my Ex's debts (see them attached), which he himself stated that he would be paying and should be awarded to him. When I called Ann's attention to her errors, she told me that it was too late and they couldn't be corrected, and that if I wanted them corrected, I should pay her again to file another divorce lawsuit. WHAT? WHAT THE F**K?!!! How's that my fault? Why should I pay for your own errors and omissions?I reached out to the companies and explained and wrote letters to the credit reporting agencies—Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax—but they all refused to remove those negative accounts from my consumer credit profile. Worse off, both companies still report both accounts as active and showing that I missed 22-30 payments till today. Even when I tell them that the 2 bills were awarded to my Ex and they say, Show me your final divorce decree, and I send it over, they all think I'm telling lies, and no one believes me because my unintelligent lawyer, Ann E. Kennedy, failed to represent my interests by including at least all the items my Ex & his lawyer insisted were the only things they'd assume responsibility for.The very worst part is that twice I have tried to purchase a house or condo since after my divorce, both accounts hunt me down, and they deny my mortgage loan, even rental property, simply because of ANN's heinous mistake. As a result of the above ugly experiences, when Ann sent me a final bill citing that I will pay the clueless DUMBF**k child she sent who wouldn't talk to the mediator nor provide answers, I refused to pay her whatever she wanted to extort more from me because she literally ruined my life and still wanted me to pay her for it. I have been waiting for her to sue me so I can expose her to the state bar association & all, but she hasn't sued me yet.I was and still soo heartbroken by this till today, especially each time I open my credit report and see the ruins. ANN E. KENNEDY'S DUMB**S HAS CAUSED ME! I think I may have to sue Ann or at least report her to her state bar because my creditworthiness & my life have been ruined by her sloppiness, discrimination, & lackadaisical attitude towards my case & her representation of me & my interests during that matter. If I were a white woman, would Ms. Ann have done this to me?

Horrible attorney

I hired Ann Kennedy to represent me in a modification and enforcement case. She missed out mediation date and did not let me even know there was a mediation date. The counter modification was filed but never signed into order. None of the discovery was done. She did nothing to protect me and my kids.... Covid was always her excuse and her usual run around no results talk.

horrible experience

i typically don't ever do bad reviews but i wouldn't ever want anyone to go through the experience i went through with Mrs. Kennedy. She was an absolute nightmare to work with, i could never get in touch with her on updates on my case. I would call her office only to get a rude response from her staf...f or told Mrs. Kennedy would call me back when she got in the office and to never hear back. When it would come to her actually appearing to represent me she would always have a higher priory case to handle. She would be out of the state days before my hearing and when she wanted to talk about my case i had to constantly repeat my self about my case when she already had all the information or she would take different calls or start talking to someone else while i was talking to her. When i finally decided to terminated her as my lawyer i was fed up..... since the day before my mediation she called me at 2pm to tell me she wouldn't be able to attend and she would be sending either someone else or have to reschedule, this truly was an ongoing issue the communication and the no shows. i would be much more understanding if i was told this information maybe 2 days before mediation not less than 24 hours. Its very disappointing since i choose Anne due to all her great reviews unfortunately she was not what i expected at all. please look around before you come to her law firm.

It is unfortunate to read a review like this. I have been practicing law for more than 10 years, and I have had extraordinarily good client satisfaction. I value the attorney-client privilege- even in cases where, as here, it is arguably waived. Nevertheless: Expectations must be realistic in an attorney-client relationship. I have a strong personality. I fight for my clients. I do not tolerate nonsense. I am known for "telling it like it is." My clients appreciate this. There are times that a case may be reset. With 4 million people in Harris County, Court dockets are crowded. A case involving allegations of child abuse, for example, may be given a higher priority on the Court's docket than other cases, forcing a reset of others. This is the reality of the courthouse. There are also times that I am not immediately available. This can be very upsetting, especially for those who do not handle stress well. The easiest way to deal with this, however, is to convey, politely, to my office staff, what the concern is. An email or text is also great. Family cases are stressful. It can be a long and difficult process. I really do understand that. But if my office staff is abused, cursed at, hung up on, or subjected to a tirade, it will NOT be tolerated by me. I will speak with a client about such behavior, and that may result in a client's decision to "terminate" me and decide that I am a "nightmare" to work with.

Posted by Client | November 19, 2015 | Hired Attorney | Child Custody

Caution! Beware!!!

Keep looking, I hired Anne in a custody case and she took my money and sided with opposing counsel- talk about a nightmare!!! My child was crying out to everyone about being abused. The case was hard and I feel that Anne just didn't want to work. Easy money and move on. Well I'm hoping that she's le...arned a HUGE lesson in law. ETHICS & INTEGRITY above all else. I'm in the process of filing a grievance against her, my child's life has been ruined. And to know that she put my child in danger by playing a game with opposing counsel and the amicus is serious business. I have forgiven and moved on. I just don't want anyone else's child to ever have to go through what she's put my child through all because of a game! This is real life and real people! SERIOUS BUSINESS.
