Born and raised in Houston, Anne graduated from Rice University in 1997 and attended the University of Kentucky for law school. She became licensed to practice law in Texas in 2002 and in Louisiana in 2005.
Currently, Anne represents foreign and US citizens in the areas of: immigration, criminal defense and appeals, and family law. Anne also helps people form businesses and resolve disputes that may arise in such.
Each of Anne’s clients is valued, and she works with them to get the best results for them, in the most cost-effective manner.
Anne began her career as a commercial insurance broker with the Natural Resources division of Aon Risk Services in Houston. Her job included identifying sources of potential liability for large and small offshore and onshore energy companies. She helped procure insurance policies to cover those risks, and assisted with first and third-party property and casualty claims. She soon began working for a top-flight, international law firm specializing in complex commercial insurance litigation in the energy sector.
In 2006, Anne opened the law offices of Kennedy & Taylor, with Alexzandra Taylor, offering advice regarding both criminal and civil law to a variety of clients. In 2008, Alex and her family moved to Washington DC, and Anne expanded her practice, offering clients personalized service as a sole practitioner.
Anne is married, lives in the historic Houston Heights area of Houston, and she and her husband greatly enjoy traveling, tennis, and scuba diving.

Ehh I'd do my research before hiring her
She did not keep me informed with my case, my family would call and Her "assistants" would tell them that she'd return the call as soon as she returned to he office, well at never happened, she'd go out of town and return 3 days (no joke) before my court hearing only to ask for a continuance. Honestl...
I am sorry for a bad review of my firm. I provide excellent representation to my clients, and I have requested verification of this review, as it does not sound like any case I have handled, and I have never received a client review such as this. Protecting the attorney-client privilege of the utmost importance to me. As this review is anonymous, please contact my office so that we may discuss the matter.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT HIRE ANN OR HER FIRM TO REPRESENT YOU IN A CONTESTED DIVORCE OF ANY KIND, IF YOU DON'T WANT
This is an honest review that has been long overdue. In 2022, I hired Ann E. Kennedy to represent me in my contested divorce, but she never took my case seriously nor effectively represented me because I am Black and an immigrant. On the day of my mediation scheduled for Ann, my so-called lawyer, and...

Horrible attorney
I hired Ann Kennedy to represent me in a modification and enforcement case. She missed out mediation date and did not let me even know there was a mediation date. The counter modification was filed but never signed into order. None of the discovery was done. She did nothing to protect me and my kids....

horrible experience
i typically don't ever do bad reviews but i wouldn't ever want anyone to go through the experience i went through with Mrs. Kennedy. She was an absolute nightmare to work with, i could never get in touch with her on updates on my case. I would call her office only to get a rude response from her staf...
It is unfortunate to read a review like this. I have been practicing law for more than 10 years, and I have had extraordinarily good client satisfaction. I value the attorney-client privilege- even in cases where, as here, it is arguably waived. Nevertheless: Expectations must be realistic in an attorney-client relationship. I have a strong personality. I fight for my clients. I do not tolerate nonsense. I am known for "telling it like it is." My clients appreciate this. There are times that a case may be reset. With 4 million people in Harris County, Court dockets are crowded. A case involving allegations of child abuse, for example, may be given a higher priority on the Court's docket than other cases, forcing a reset of others. This is the reality of the courthouse. There are also times that I am not immediately available. This can be very upsetting, especially for those who do not handle stress well. The easiest way to deal with this, however, is to convey, politely, to my office staff, what the concern is. An email or text is also great. Family cases are stressful. It can be a long and difficult process. I really do understand that. But if my office staff is abused, cursed at, hung up on, or subjected to a tirade, it will NOT be tolerated by me. I will speak with a client about such behavior, and that may result in a client's decision to "terminate" me and decide that I am a "nightmare" to work with.

Caution! Beware!!!
Keep looking, I hired Anne in a custody case and she took my money and sided with opposing counsel- talk about a nightmare!!! My child was crying out to everyone about being abused. The case was hard and I feel that Anne just didn't want to work. Easy money and move on. Well I'm hoping that she's le...

On top of all that, she is a bright person and more than capable of finding a solution or an angle that someone else might overlook. She brings a great energy to any project."
"I have referred several matters over to Anne and she has handled each and every one as the professional and knowledgeable attorney that I have come to know her as over the past 8 years."
