Caj Boatright grew up in the small west Texas town of Sweetwater. After graduating from Sweetwater High School, he attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where he double majored in History and Political Science and graduated cum laude with Honors. Aside from earning multiple academic awards at Southwestern, Caj was appointed to key positions in student leadership organizations and played on the varsity Golf Team. He then attended the University of Texas Law School, where he became great friends with Kurt Arnold and Jason Itkin.
After law school, Caj joined the largest law firm in Fort Worth – Kelly Hart & Hallman LLP. While at Kelly Hart, he represented plaintiffs and defendants in all types of litigation, spanning from complex commercial disputes to catastrophic personal injuries. Caj also worked on several significant appellate matters, which led him to take a federal clerkship with the Honorable Reynaldo Garza, a Justice for the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Caj first joined Arnold & Itkin in 2006. In 2008 he left Arnold & Itkin to become an in-house lawyer for ExxonMobil, where he handled cases with hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars of exposure. He returned to Arnold & Itkin in 2013 to re-focus on representing victims of serious personal injury.
