Matt's practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury cases, products liability claims, trucking accidents, maritime and workplace injuries, automotive and tire defect litigation, and commercial litigation.
Matt’s docket has included cases against a variety of defendants, such as: auto manufacturers Ford Motor Company and General Motors; tire manufacturers Bridgestone/Firestone, Continental Tire, Goodyear Tire, and Michelin; retailers Big Lots! and Wal-Mart; marine transportation and exploration companies Kirby Marine, Technip, and WesternGeco; shipping and product inspector Inspectorate America/Bureau Veritas; railroad BNSF Railway; oil companies ExxonMobil and Valero; and other large corporations, including Kawasaki, KBR/Halliburton, and Otis Elevator.
Matt is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. He obtained an undergraduate degree, with Honors, from the University of Texas at Austin, double-majoring in Psychology and Spanish. Matt atttended Tulane University Law School, graduating in 2009.
Matt serves on the Board of Directors for the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, Attorneys Information Exchange Group, and the American Association for Justice.
Matt has been licensed to practice law in all the state and federal courts of Texas, Louisiana, and California, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Central District of Illinois and the Eastern District of Tennessee. Matt practices law throughout the United States and has handled cases in Arizona, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
