Since being admitted to practice by the Texas State Bar in 2000, I have worked and practiced in all
levels of Texas and federal courts. I have presented oral argument in the Texas Supreme Court, the
Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and several of the Texas Courts of Appeals. As lead counsel,
I took a pro bono case all the way to the United States Supreme Court, obtaining a reversal for my
client. In addition to appellate work, I often joining trial teams around the state to write and argue
motions, advise on legal strategies and error preservation, and handle the jury-charge conference and
post-trial briefing.

I joined Slate & Associates in 2022 as founder of its appellate section. I has extensive experience as an appellate lawyer and working at every level of Texas appellate courts. In my  most recent position as a partner at a prestigious appellate boutique, Kuhn Hobbs, PLLC, I practice gravitated towards family-law and CPS cases, where I found my passion. I represents clients of Slate & Associates as well as individual clients across the state. Often, I am brought onto a client’s team by outside family-law lawyers when a case needs advanced trial court motions drafted, assistance at trial, or when cases reache the appellate level.
