Dennis Marston Slate

I hired Mr. Slate and his team Nov 2016 to modify possession for my 11 year old daughter. As of Dec 2017 my case is closed and my 12 year daughter is happy and safe. Slate is great at what he does - he moved quickly and we had temporary orders signed by a judge within days - he has a hell of a reputa...tion in Harris County. Pack your patience and trust the process. Do not hire him if you are looking for compassion or a therapist to feel sorry for you and your situation - he is not that guy. He is about the facts and knows Texas family law. He is a beast. Just remember he and his team have zero emotional attachment to you, your kids, or your spouse's situation therefore don't expect them to "feel" for you - their job is to win your case and do right by your kiddos- that's it, not "feel". He and his team will tell you like it is, and shoot it straight. His assistant is great as well. Like i said, pack your patience and get in line because you are not the only one. For what its worth I would hire Mr. Slate again:)I didn't have any invoicing issues and felt the billing was fair and just. *The opposing counsel on my case said "they hired the right guy"

In December 2016, my husband and I hired Dennis Slate and his staff due to a CPS case and both our ex spouses pulling some very shady moves. This all started in August 2016 with CPS and we abided by each and every "demand" they instructed us to do. It seemed each week, there was something new they no...w "required" us to do, even though we did EVERYTHING before their deadline. They even told us their "agreement" we had to sign trumped both of our divorce orders. We got TIRED of the back and forth because no matter what we did, they added more to it. So, on December 22, 2016, we went into Slate's office, sat down with him and knew after being in his office for 30 seconds, he was going to help us fight CPS as well as fight for custody of our kids. My husband and I had almost lost all hope with any and all attorneys until we had that consultation meeting with Dennis and Dannielle. Dennis is a "I'm going to tell you like it is" type of attorney, which we loved because we didn't feel he was just after our money. Is he pricy? Yes, but there is no dollar amount that's too much when it comes to fighting an agency who does NOT do things in the "best interest or safety of the children," and no dollar amount that's too much when it comes to fighting against your ex and winning! My husband's ex wife tried to get any and all parental rights removed and no geographical restrictions on where she could live with the children. Well, on January 12, 2017, she lost that hearing and after her keeping the kids away from us for 15 weeks, the judge ruled in our favor where she was ORDERED to not EVER pull the crap she pulled again. Long story short, in August 2017, we were granted custody of the children, changing custody from their mom to my husband and me. So, now she sees the girls for 2 hours on Thursdays and every 1st, 3rd, 5th weekends and that is ALL thanks to Dennis, Dannielle and Shailey. All 3 of these attorney's are no nonsense and will go to battle for you in court and outside of court. In my case, I also got things for my son that I wanted and ex husband had to stop the shadiness he was trying to pull with him. We pray we will never need an attorney ever again, but if we do, SLATE LAW OFFICE will be the only law firm we will hire. They are top notch, know the law and will fight for you, your kids and your family! CPS is a joke who only tries to make families feel bad for actual parenting - when CPS hears you have hired Dennis Slate's firm, they real quick bring their investigation to a close because they know they have nothing, have done wrong and know Dennis, Dannielle and Shailey will show them up in court! I will recommend Slate Law Firm to anyone needing an attorney. He and his staff will fight for you and win! Trust us... we were at our darkest but they slowly helped us see the light and in the end, the darkness was on our enemies - not us. We hired Mr. Slate to help us fight CPS for my daughter and her three kids. When he took the case, we could tell he was a no nonsense professional and knew what he was doing. He was very well read and knew and kept up to date on current laws and cases that had been thru the Courts. He was very thorou...gh and left no stone upturned. Going into Court, you could tell he was well known and they knew they had a fight on their hands. He was a hard fighter for us and had a great Court side manner working well with the system and never backed down. After that case my wife and I decided it was best we adopted the children and he handled the private adoptions. He and his staff made the process as easy as possible. And what is surprising, they say you get what you pay for, his rates where so much better/lower than any other Law Firm but we felt like we got the cream of the crop. I would use him again, which we did for executing both our Wills, and would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone.

Shailey is very attentive, professional, knowledgeable, punctual, and responsive. Shailey and her legal assistant were always on top of my case and made sure to explain/answer any ...questions or concerns I needed address.
