Don't waste your time or money!

He's a money hungry rude dishonest lawyer. Not about helping his clients. Should have followed my gut feeling about him. Plays off peoples emotions and hardships of others.

Stay clear of this man

I hired this attorney 2x the 1st time was in 2019 and the 2nd time was in 2024. This man is not the same man I hired in 2019. I believe he is drinking again! John and his paralegal dropped the ball so many times, then would blame it on each other. He promised us 1 thing and we got the totally opp...osite. John wife is an addicted and John had her call us bout our case!!!! He was not ready for the court date that kept getting pushed back for over a year. John basically gave the win to the other attorney!!!!!! His is rude screams at you telling you to shut up, would just hang up on you!!!!! Won’t answer your phone calls. I would stay clear of this man!!! He is a horrible man and a worse attorney. John has also been suspended by the board for his inappropriate actions!!!!

Exceptional Lawyer 5 Stars Not Enough

5 stars are not enough to justify the service and dedication he has provided for myself and our family. I could write all day long and it still won’t be enough to praise how dedicated and honest of an attorney John is consistently. He is selfless, he is fair and just, he fights for what is right, ...especially when innocent children are caught in the ugly mess of divorce/custody battles. Amidst a major life crisis that turned our entire families lives upside down, when I was terrified, morose, and confused, I found John who helped me find clarity and calm throughout the legal process. Prior to John I had retained many lawyers in a series of high conflict family and criminal matters. Nobody helped us like John, they did not compare whatsoever. I had spent my life savings on empty promises & our situation proceeded to get worse. Before working with John I did not trust that anyone would really help our family, which we needed desperately at that point. John set expectations, realistic expectations; which are not always what you want to hear and doesn't seem logical sometimes in family matters, but it was the truth! If I had a million dollars to hire a lawyer in a family or criminal case I would hire John LaGrappe. John is not afraid of high-conflict and he is not intimidated of opposing counsel. He works HARD, and is DEDICATED. I have referred John to others and they gave positive feedback. I would hire John again and recommend him to others. He saved our lives.

Ray Hurlbut

John is amazingly quick on his feet. He was able to negotiate a complete reversal in my custody battle, which resulted in me gaining full custody of my son! Most dad's don't get the opportunity to raise their children, but thanks to John, I do get to raise my son. I am very grateful for John, his kno...wledge of the law, and his ability to navigate the legal system. He is an excellent attorney that cares about his clients, communicates well with them, and fights hard for them.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"John is an outstanding criminal defense lawyer and trial attorney. I recently watched John defend a client in Harris County accused of capital murder. John owned the courtroom and dominated the prosecution obtaining an acquittal on the capital murder charge. This just does not happen here in Harris County! Anyone accused of a serious crime should hire John immediately."
