Backwood Southern Lawyer!!

I don't know where this guy received his license to be an attorney. He was supposed to be representing my son as a criminal defense attorney but he did absolutely nothing. He doesn't have an office and he NEVER answers calls nor does he return messages. He never, not once went to the jail to speak to... my son about his case. My son bonded out and attempted several times to speak to Mr. Striegler about his defense with no avail. My son was notified by the Bail Bondsman of the court date, still no word from Steven. The day of court my son attempted to present him with a large folder of evidence for his case which was not accepted by Steven. He told my son that he just needed to plea guilty and accept some sort of deal. My son wouldn't plea guilty for something he didn't do. Mr. Strielger because obviously angry at the thought of a jury trail. He belittled and degraded my son, his client to no ends. At first we kept trying to speak in my son's defense and ignore the insults but he just didn't quit. Finally I couldn't stand for the bashing any more and told Mr. Strielger that he is supposed to be defending my son, not degrading him. Mr. Strielger immediately because so angry, began throwing a temper tantrum and told me that I wasn't his client and he wasn't going to take disrespect. I was stunned with disbelief! He can disrespect his client but threw a child fit when he was addressed about it. How does this man hold his position as an attorney? Do not hire this man is you value your time, money and freedom. He doesn't care about anything but getting paid without doing any work. He doesn't care about his clients lives or future, just the money. Please don't put yourself or your loved ones in a position to be legal robbed and locked away.

Angry parent

This guy is 100% Garbage. He is supposed to be representing my son in a parole violation case. The parole board lifted his warrant and is able to make bail but this guy is nowhere to be found to get him a bail hearing. He was just sitting in jail waiting for this waste of legal representation to get ...him to the judge. Please people if you hear of this guy RUN fast..Garbage!

Do NOT hire...

This lawyer was more concerned with paying off the retainer than working or addressing the concerns I had with my divorce case. $1500 to do my divorce and he wouldn't even respond to me when I informed him about my spouse violating the court order, repeatedly. I had recommend him initially to friends..., but now I wouldn't tell anyone to hire him. He removed himself as my counsel because I couldn't pay him on demand; we didn't agree on a payment schedule, mind you. One night at 11pm he texted me and that was the 2nd time I had heard from him in about 2 months and then a few days later he mentioned in an email that he wanted the other part of the retainer. I told him court wasn't for another few weeks and I didn't have it right now and he replied with he would file a motion to remove himself as my counsel.

The worst unprofessional service I have ever had.

I used him for a custody case and divorce in which he did not keep me Informed and it was not his area of expertise this resulted in me needing to get a new lawyer. When I told him this he became extremely upset calling my new lawyer a real class act for taking on my case and told me she had not been... practicing for long and that she was inexperienced. A friend of mine who had just came back from Afghanistan and was in uniform stated to him, the new lawyer must be doing something right because she has her own practice, and a place of business that has equipment that works. He stated this because Steven said his printer was not working and hr could not print my documents. This upset so much that he told him to get out if his office, he was screaming this to the top of his lungs and got in his face. I was so shocked and upset from the unprofessional behavior he displayed we left and Steven proceeded to follow us out yelling at us. He got out side and threw a piece of bark from a tree at my car. I was scared and in tears because I couldn't believe a lawyer would act this way. He was unprofessional and acted like a child by throwing a tantrum because I changed my lawyer. He also could have put my friend in a bad situation and myself by behaving this way because if someone would have saw him screaming and throwing an object at my car and called the police, he was in the wrong but in the military conflicts of any kind can affect your career. I had been waiting on a divorce date for a almost a year with him and my new lawyer got me a date within a month or so and had it finalized. Also I spoke with Michael who he works for about this and nothing was done. This added stress to custody case, he was unprofessional and I was just scared to deal with him after his blow up and happy that I changed my lawyer. I felt this way because if he could not keep his composure when my friend said something to him which was not rude because he kept down talking me and my new lawyer then how would be beneficial to me in court. The worst service I have had in my entire life.

Should not pratice beyond his specific area of criminal law

Used him for a few legal issues of mostly simply nature like child support modification document. Did not investigate his background well and employed him to represent me in a child custody case. It is not his area of expertise and led me to waste time and money.
