Excellent family attorney

I hired Mr. Reed to represent me in my divorce. He always responded quickly to my calls and emails. All of my paperwork was done online and easy to upload. Mr. Reed is extremely personable and easy to talk to. He is also very kind and courteous. Mr. Reed was very helpful to me at a time when my life... felt like it was upside down. I feel through his diligence and extensive knowledge it made the hardest time of my life a bit simpler.

Don't use outside of Tarrant Cnty

Hired twice for custody issue. The first time was to maintain custody of my youngest child after her father initiated modification. Apparently the norm is for the judge to order parent facilitation AND psych evaluation. Lester accepted my case & his advice was to go for the evaluation. I refused ...to pay $1500 in addition to attorney fees. When we spoke his youngest child was there, a huge distraction having a young child trying to get his attention while conversing. Hired him again for another modification, I was charged TRAVEL time to Collin County....hourly rate for 3 hours of driving adds up.

To be fair, I agreed to meet with client the day I was readying to leave on vacation and my child was out of school. Prior to meeting with client, client was aware my child was there as I disclosed that information. No issues were brought up at the initial meeting. When accepting a case that was already in place and orders for certain requirements were already in place, as an attorney, it is difficult to change or modify those court orders. Most attorneys charge for all their time, including travel. Travel to courthouses is a standard provision in my retainer contract. I am, however, sorry you were unhappy with your experience with my office. I strive to give the best advice I can while upholding the highest integrity. I do not create the facts my clients bring me, nor do I have say at court hearings I do not attend because I was not the attorney at that hearing. I can only do the best I can with the facts and situations a client brings me. On another note, I am family lawyer. But, first, I am family man. My children are often in my office. I love having my children around and my children are why I do this job. If anyone expects their family lawyer to set their own kids aside, they should hire someone else. Obviously, I will maitain professionalism and use discretion when deciding if my children being at my office is appropriate. And, I will always demonstrate to my clients that my family comes first. I want my clients to see that I take family seriously, including theirs. I am deeply sorry you were dissatisfied with your experience with my office. - Lester K. Reed

Great result but I had to follow-up the entire way

We hired Lester for a child guardianship case. As a lawyer Lester was terrific, explaining complex family law in layman's terms and helping us set strategies all along the way, He was also very tapped into the Tarrant country family law scene, knowing clerks, judges and other lawyers which seemed to ...really help us. As a person, Lester was a personable guy who seems to have a lot of personal integrity and compassion. All that said I would NOT hire him again.....because his customer service skills from his office were horrible. Time and time he or his staff would promise to call us with updates, mail us forms, email us with information, etc and they were either late with the information or most of the time we had to call them to "remind" them we still needed something. At time we even caught them in lies about where signed paperwork was - they told us it was at the judge's office yet when I checked up directly the judge didn't even have the paperwork yet. At one point another lawyer that works for him was handling our case, that guy quit and Lester never called to tell us this - I found out when I called (yet again) for an update and only then they told me the other lawyer was gone....many other examples that meant that while the case went our way it caused me to weekly have to follow-up, email or call just to understand what is going on.

I do not disagree with some of these comments. My office was in transition with personnel and I was in a terrible place trying to balance client service and maintaining my office. While these issues have been fixed as I have a terrific staff experienced in the highest level of client service, there is simply no excuse for a client to feel as though they were not treated appropriately. I do not agree, however, with any allegation that I would lie to a client. I have given information that I know to be true at the time, with good intentions, but to find out that information was incorrect. I sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had with my office. Such experiences no longer take place in my very professional office with a superbly competent staff. If I may ever be of service to you, bring me this review/comment and I will apply a $2500 credit to your legal fees in order to earn back my good reputation that I had when you hired me. Thank you - Lester K. Reed

Highly Recommend!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Lester Reed! From the very first phone call he was able to put my mind at ease. I immediately felt that I would be able to trust him to help me through my divorce and custody battle. He was very responsive with every question I had (there were A TON)... and he was always on time/ready to go for appointments and court dates. If you are looking for an attorney who knows his stuff, will have your back through the entire process, and has a great office staff who is also very helpful, look no further. Im very proud to say that Lester Reed is my family attorney!

Fort Worth Family Law at its Best!

Lester K Reed and his firm represented me very successfully in a custody modification trial. He and his team were upfront from the beginning regarding any obstacles and never insinuated realistically unattainable goals. Nonetheless, in trial we succeeded well beyond my expectations. Lester and his... team’s aptitude, calm demeanor and support throughout my entire case transformed an otherwise very personal and difficult process into a bearable scenario. Prior to being informed of our ruling I left court feeling relieved, confident and satisfied with my choice in representation. The final ruling in our favor merely solidified the expertise and talent within the Lester K Reed law firm. After meeting and working with everyone at his firm (via a referral) for several months it felt like going to court with close friends or family, I truly felt their genuine support and saw their efforts throughout my entire case.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Mr. Reed is THE BEST family lawyer I have ever had the opportunity to work a case with. I will not ever forget how our clients were full of antomosity at the temp orders hearing and we had to work hard but to see them in the hall of the courthouse cohesively working together as young new parents of such a beautiful baby was exactly what was in the best interest of the child. And when my client changed his mind at the very last minute, he was the most patient person I have ever worked a case with. I felt so bad that my client changed his mind at the last minute, but Mr. Reed has the patience of "Jobe" He took it in stride in a situation that I would have admittedly been frustrated with. If you ever get a chance to work with him...DO SO....you will learn a whole new sense of how to practice family law. I strongly recommend Mr. Reed. He's an absolute asset to Family Law in Tarrant and surrounding counties."

"Lester is a committed and brilliant family lawyer. He takes pride in knowing his trade and staying up to date on changes in Texas Family Law. As law students, we were admonished to keep some [emotional] distance from our clients so as not to let our clients' matters affect us too deeply. Despite this, Lester cannot quell has inherent passion for his cases and his clients' well-being. He really cares about his cases and he has the experience and knowledge to get the results his clients deserve. And he's just a darn good guy."

"I have known Mr. Reed both personally and professionally for several years. I have referred several cases to him in the past and will continue to do so. I do not refer cases to an attorney unless I trust that they are knowlegible and very competent in that area. Mr. Reed is ethical and works extremely hard for his clients. He also makes every effort to keep the costs of his cases as reasonable as possible. I have also had cases with and against Mr. Reed and I would not hesitate to endorse him."
