About Daniel

Learn Daniel’s areas of practice.

Daniel Hernandez was born in the city of Guanajuato, Mexico.  He became a naturalized citizen of the United States at age 12.  His multicultural background and bilingual skills enable him to assist and communicate effectively with his Spanish and English speaking clients.  Daniel attended Paschal High School, Texas Christian University and Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.

Daniel worked in education for seven years prior to and during law school where he enrolled at the age of 27.  He worked at Texas Christian University in their admissions office and was director of admissions at All Saints’ Episcopal School, a K-12 school, during his first two years of law school.  During his last year and a half of law school, Daniel worked as an interpreter in both State and Federal courts while clerking with his brother, Francisco, and going to school at night.

Daniel has worked for State Senator Mike Moncrief in his regional office as a community liaison to the Hispanic community.  During that time, Daniel met many community and civic leaders and learned about the Texas political landscape.  Daniel also worked for City Councilman David Chappell as his Council Aide.  Daniel was involved in the city’s redistricting process and assisted constituents access to city officials and services.

Now a lawyer, Daniel’s primary areas of practice are criminal and civil defense, personal injury/plaintiff’s work, family law, and immigration work. He also serves as an Ad Litem for children in personal injury and wrongful death cases. He is a regular instructor for the D.E.A.’s Basic Narcotics Investigator’s School teaching on courtroom testimony and courtroom demeanor. He has taught in Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock, Amarillo, Tulsa and Oklahoma City. He is also a State of Texas Certified Court Interpreter.

Daniel is still actively involved in the community.  He was appointed by Council Member Wendy Davis to serve on the Building Standards Commission.  Mayor Mike Moncrief and Council Member Wendy Davis subsequently appointed Daniel to serve on the city’s Zoning Commission where he served as the commission’s Vice Chair for two years and as the Chair for one year. Subsequently, Mayor Moncrief appointed him to the Fort Worth Housing Authority where he served as the Vice Chair. He is currently a delegate to the Texas Republican Convention and was a delegate to the Texas Republican Convention during the presidential elections. He is also a board member for The First Tee of Fort Worth.  He has served on the Fort Worth School District’s HYPE program advisory committee, and the boards for the TCU Young Alumni Association, Boys and Girls’ Clubs of Fort Worth Panther Board, the Youth Sports Council of Fort Worth, and Santa Fe Youth Services. Daniel volunteers to speak to TCU undergraduates regarding the consequences of uses of alcohol, drugs, and other issues that face college students.

Daniel married Jennifer Hill Hernandez in May of 2005. His interests outside of Community service and law include playing drums in a band, soccer, golf and running.

Daniel was a member of the Mahon Inns of Court, the State Bar College, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Superb Lawyer.
Daniel Hernandez was an absolute Beast when it came to getting my case dismissed after going to trial. He is very ethical, passionate, intelligent, and tremendously skilled in law. This man truly takes the time to study/learn your case to the best of his ability, so that there are no hiccups along the process. Thanks to Daniel I can keep my current job/career and continue living a normal life alongside my family. I highly recommend hiring Daniel Hernandez if you want your case being handled by one of the best in this line of business.

This is the attorney you want!
Daniel Hernandez is a fantastic attorney who gets the job done and in doing so, helps you in ways you don't even realize until later. We utilized his skills in a criminal case for a family member and a child custody case for a different family member. We were told upfront NO GAMES and he kept his word. His prices are reasonable and we won both cases (if you consider anything good in family court- we didn't lose). This attorney, in my opinion, is the kind of attorney everyone should have and we'd be hearing less about problems with court related issues and the integrity of the system.
