Mr. Stoy was born in Fort Worth, Texas and later graduated from Aledo High School. He spent his childhood riding cutting horses and participating in other ranch-life activities.
After graduating from Aledo High School, Mr. Stoy attended undergrad at Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science. While at Texas A&M University, Mr. Stoy was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and in 2006 was Chairman of Chilifest, Inc. Chilifest, Inc. is an organization that hosts an annual fund raising concert in a town just outside of College Station. When Mr. Stoy was chairman, the organization was able to donate over $100,000 to local charities in and around College Station.
After graduating Texas A&M University, Mr. Stoy attended St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. While at St. Mary’s, Mr. Stoy participated on the mock trial team and was a member of the St. Mary’s Law Journal. While in law school, Mr. Stoy also studied abroad in Innsbruck, Austria where he was instructed by the United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts.
After graduating law school, Mr. Stoy returned to Fort Worth, Texas and began his legal career at prestigious defense firm. While at the defense firm, Mr. Stoy learned how insurance companies defended cases and uses that knowledge in his practice today. As an associate, Mr. Stoy was selected to travel to London, UK with the firms partners to learn Lloyds of London, known to most as the world’s largest insurer, handles claims and defends cases. While the knowledge he gained on the defense side of the bar is invaluable, Mr. Stoy knew that representing the truly aggrieved was the career path for him.
After a few years as a defense lawyer, Mr. Stoy went to work for a Dallas based plaintiff’s firm that specialized in auto wrecks. Mr. Stoy was stationed in the firms Fort Worth office where he met his now-partner, Susan Hutchison. It took less than a year for Chris and Susan to realize that they should open their own firm and did so in late 2014.

Negative Experience
I was referred to Chris Stoy by another attorney. I consulted with Chris and he was extremely nice and understanding about my situation, and made me promises that I could not turn down, so I decided to go ahead and hire him as my attorney. After that initial consultation, his whole demeanor changed. ...
Ms. Jennifer Day - I was surprised today to receive a review from you three years after the case settled. The reviewer is "anonymous," but I'm assuming it is you since you are the only client I ever had who wanted a judgment when the defense was offering $50,000 (the policy limits - i.e. the most that would ever be offered) and the defendant's oil and gas assets. I worked tirelessly on your case to force the defendant to turn over all her oil and gas assets. I took no fee from the oil and gas assets, giving them all to you. Since you did not have health insurance, your medical bills were incredibly high - if I recall, somewhere around $100,000. I also went to work for you on the medical bills. I was able to reduce them down to $10,000 after fighting with the medical providers. Because of this, you were still able to put quite a bit of money in your pocket. I can assure you, had you not of obtained my services (or another attorney who would also have charged a percentage on the case), the entire $50,000 would have gone to medical bills and you would have never received the oil and gas assets. If I made you promises I didn't keep, I am sorry. I have tried to call you multiple times to discuss your case but I can never reach you. My door is always open and my phone is always on the hook if you would like to call and work this out.
