In 1996, Debra Edmondson earned her B.A. in Government and Politics from The University of Texas at Dallas. Following that, she pursued her J.D. degree from Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University, completing her studies in 2004. The year 2005 saw the establishment of the Edmondson Law Firm by her.
Subsequently, in 2006, Debra transitioned from private practice to an Associate General Counsel role at a small oil and gas company. By the following year, she had risen to the position of General Counsel within the same company. In 2009, Debra Edmondson assumed the role of General Counsel at Thomas Stephen & Company, an accounting firm based in Dallas. Her responsibilities extended to overseeing Human Resources matters and assisting in managing various commercial properties owned by the principal.
With a wealth of experience in addressing municipal matters from multiple perspectives, Debra Edmondson has advocated on behalf of numerous clients before local and state agencies as well as city councils. This diverse background led her back to private practice in early 2011.
Debra Edmondson's active engagement with the City of Southlake spans over two decades. Having served two terms on the Southlake Planning and Zoning Commission, she was elected to the Southlake City Council in 1998. She was the President on the Board of Directors for the Bob Jones Nature Center Organization (501c3) located in Southlake and raised over $1,00,000 for the Nature Center.
