Child Support

I contacted Clanton Law Firm after hours while googling attorneys. To my surprise someone answered and happily discussed my questions. Mr Clanton set up an appointment for me to come to his office for a consultation. The following day I met Mr Clanton and discussed my reason for needing an attorney w...hich was for a child support hearing. I explained to him that in my 37 years of life I somehow had never needed an attorney or retained one and that I was filled with questions about how the process works even. He answered all of my questions and left me with no cause for concern. I immediately placed a down payment for his service and was offered a payment installment as well. Quickly Mr Clanton went to work on my case for me and my 7 month old little girl. He sent notices and such to the other attorney in this case and went to bat for me. The first day at court Mr Clanton met me outside beforehand, calming nerves, and giving me a run down of exactly how things work, what to expect, etc...... Never once have I felt that he was out for only the retaining fee, nor request any additional fees once it wasn't resolved on that 1st day as expected! My personal outcome was in my favor and I can assure anyone that it probably would not have ended up that way had I not sought-after his professional skills. I would definitely recommend Mr Clanton to any parent having family law issues. And should I need an attorney again in the future, he's the only one I will be calling! No more going thru Google, hoping to find someone that CARES!

Mr. Clanton just gets it DONE!!!

Mr. Clanton has been a HUGE Blessing to my children and I. He has handled my case with a 100% genuine effort. I was in a situation where my children were placed with me and yet the AG was still garnishing child support from me. I went months in this state, inquired with 2 different Attorney's befo...re Mr. Clanton and even paid 1 of those Attorneys for representation. All I saw was my hard earned money goto waste as neither of those Attorneys helped me in any way, not even the one I paid. I referenced a website a friend of mine recommended and I found it was a website I had previously used to look for an Attorney. I had actually even gotten a response from Mr. Clanton previously from my inquiry on that site. Well I reached out to him and he reached back out to me that very same day. Within 3 days I had a free consultation scheduled, that's right a free consultation. Mr. Clanton took his time to not only listen and get all the details of my case, but I could also see that he empathized with me and to me that was HUGE! I chose to hire Mr. Clanton that very same day. Since then all Mr. Clanton has done is provide results. He is very knowledgable in his field and knows then ins and the outs of the law and the courts. I tell him that he is a "Pitbull on my case and in the courts" and he knows I mean it with the upmost respect. As a single Father I can tell you that Texas is not very Father friendly in custody cases and child support cases, even when the other parent is a neglectful one. However, Mr. Clanton has shown me that single Father's do have hope especially when a person and Attorney such as himself takes the time to put all his efforts and heart into your case. I know Mr. Clanton has many clients, but I can honestly say that my experience with him has made me feel like I was his only client. It is something I have seen and heard Mr. Clanton take the time to do with all his clients. I thank not only Mr. Clanton, but also his wonderful Paralegal Marilyn (she is Awesome) for all that they have done, I greatly appreciate it. Bottom line, if you want results don't look anywhere else, hire Mr. Clanton. You won't regret it.

Excellent Lawyer! Informed and hardworking.

Daniel is an extremely well informed, time conscious lawyer. He will do whatever necessary to assist you with whatever issue arises. He helped me figure out a speeding ticket as well as reach a settlement for a car accident I was in this year. Overall a great experience and I felt at ease as he dealt... with my cases.

Practices many areas of law. Seek an attorney specializing only in Family Law.

Unfortunately, missed the “buyer beware” Google review written (2026) via a former client. Mr. Clayton had limited knowledge of Texas Family law during our consultation. Shockingly, he could not answer a basic divorce decree question. Redacted his original answers. Exclaimed that he was uncertain if ...the judge would enforce the rules written in my divorce decree. Did not feel confident either way. Why practice family law if you don’t know the laws? After consultation, I realized I was dissuaded in hiring him to take action towards enforcing my divorce decree. Exclaimed he would take my case however, the retainer fee is 5k and at minimum 10k for my case. In my opinion, Mr. Clayton is pompous. I felt uncomfortable in that my case is not significant or profitable enough for him.

Dear anonymous, My name is Clanton, not Clayton. I am board certified in family law and have fifteen years experience practicing in the DFW area. Family law is the only area of law I practice, so I am not sure why the heading of your review begins with patently false information. I do not recall having any consultation where I was unable to answer a basic divorce decree question. You go on to state that I informed you that I was uncertain if a judge would enforce the decree you sought to enforce. This could be a very valid opinion based on the language in the decree and the facts of the case. It also matters if the enforcement seeks contempt and jail time, vs. a money judgment or specific performance. The purpose of an initial consultation is to allow the attorney to review the relevant court orders, discuss the facts, and provide an opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of your case. I have zero recollection of this conversation that you allege occurred within the past few weeks (highly unlikely). That said, I am quite certain that if my opinion was that the court was unlikely to enforce the decree in the manner sought based on the facts of your case, then I was providing sound legal advice that perhaps you were not ready to hear. I do not get paid to tell people what they want to hear, I tell them the truth and my opinion on the strength of their case. It is far better to learn that during an initial consultation than after months of litigation and thousands of dollars have been spent. Perhaps this review would read better if it said ethical attorney saved me thousands of dollars by helping me avoid ill-advised litigation. I also do not have a "minimum of 10k" policy for any case. My retainer is $5,000.00, and replenishments become due if and when that retainer is exhausted. If asked to provide an estimate of what the litigation may cost, I do my best to give potential clients a ballpark idea of what the case may entail and what that could ultimately cost. However, there are too many variables in any case to accurately estimate the total cost or ultimate disposition of every issue. A point I emphasize during any discussion of how much the case will cost. Unfortunately, I have a hard time believing any of the allegations lobbied in this anonymous review. You stated that I "redacted" my original answers. This implies that I drafted an answer and subsequently redacted some of the language so that it could not be read. That certainly did not happen as my consultations are all verbal and nothing is drafted unless I have been retained to work on your case. You state that you chose not to hire me, so there is zero truth to the statement that any of my answers were redacted. If you hired my firm to perform legal services on your behalf and you were not satisfied with the quality of services provided, then an honest review of your experience would be welcome feedback and I would strive to improve in any area where you felt that we fell short. That is simply not the case here. The only thing I can address from your feedback is your impression that I did not take your legal matter seriously because in your opinion, it was not profitable enough. I assure you that is never the case. I take all of my client's legal matters seriously. If my advice to you was that your case was unlikely to prevail, that was to prevent you from wasting your time and money by pursuing a case with a low probability of success. That does not benefit me in any way, shape, or form. I practice the right way! My clients know that I do whatever I can to help. I have hundreds of former clients that have all provided overwhelmingly positive feedback. It is regrettable that you have taken what you allege was a 30-minute conversation ending in a decision not to retain my services, and turned it into a one star scathing indictment of my competence, professionalism, and moral compass. I respectfully disagree, but thank you for your feedback anonymous!
