I found Stephanie through an online search after being arrested for DWI....I was lawyered up before I received my BAC from the blood sample. I am glad I did and I do not think that is an admission of guilt. I was facing the loss of my career, driving privileges, and just the embarrassment of receivin...g a DWI. My first meeting with Stephanie, she sensed my own shame and disappointment in my choices. She was very genuine in saying, "I represent rapists, murderers, and people that do really bad things. You are not one of those people. Give me your anxiety. Things are going to be okay." Since she is a former police officer, she understands what happens in a DWI stop. She truly listened to me when I told her my side of the story. I was honest. When she received the records she was very thorough in examining and analyzing them with me. She wanted to get all of the facts before making a decision with the direction to take my case. I was not booked into jail after my arrest; I received the call that I needed to report for booking, her assistant was very thorough in giving me the information that I needed and she is just as caring, sweet, and genuine. She knows her stuff and is compulsively organized. In my case, I was very zealous about particulars in the case and Stephanie allowed me to do some footwork and she took those things into consideration with my case. She told me that had I not been "that" person my case would have likely had a different outcome. I was pleased that she allowed me to help her work my own case by bringing in evidence that I believed was relevant. She listened. No my charges were not dropped, but I got a lesser charge. SURPRISINGLY! I had the opportunity to take my case to trial and possibly I may have had a different outcome. However, I made a decision to drive impaired, was caught, and I have learned from it. My review is not to say that she will help you get off on charges you're facing. However, my review is to say she compulsively takes pride in what she does and she is well connected in the court system. She knows the law. My personal opinion, I don't think the young prosecutors want to go up against a former police officer turned attorney. She has not only a physical presence, intelligence, articulation but she is very upfront with you in the same manner. She's not going to tell you what you want to hear. She is very frank and that IS what YOU pay her to do. I have referred my friends to her, but they decided to go with a different attorney. I can't say their outcomes or client relationship was as communicative as it is with Stephanie. Every court date, she always sat and talked with me and always let me look through my file. It's mine, after all. A piece of advice she gave me - which I already knew...never do the roadside tests, it's just a way for the officer to gather evidence against you. Go to jail. I later learned it is better to blow than it is to get a blood sample. Blood typically comes back with a higher level of BAC. These days no refusal is going to become standard. If you're looking for a fair, frank, genuine and someone who will listen to you the attorney to hire is Stephanie. It works both ways, though. You have to be just as genuine, frank, honest, and make a good representation of yourself. She offers payment plans, which considering the cost of a DWI is helpful. Do I want to ever get another DWI, no. Will I ever use Stephanie again for any legal matters, ABSOLUTELY! I will recommend her to anyone that is need of legal assistance or advice. Although I loved working with her - I hope my future interactions are for positive reasons.
