Need a 0 star

I would give 0 stars if possible. I had several unpaid traffic tickets holding my license from being renewed. I hired an attorney in Houston and he had them all fixed within 1 month- for great prices and I received NO convictions. I had a ticket in Ferris and he for some reason referred me to Jack By...no- they never explained any of the process to me and then two days after my supposed court date they tell me to send them a money order for the full ticket amoint. Why would I have paid them $150 to receive the same outcome. I could have just called and paid the ticket to the court months ago and renewed my license. Read the other reviews when you search his name. I made a huge mistake and didn’t not review before I paid him! Helped with nothing- terrible

Waste of money

I hired this attorney to represent me with three tickets. The "offers" I got were oddly the same as the fines initially imposed by the jurisdiction where my violations occurred. I had one ticket that I specifically needed dismissed. He pled no contest to the ticket....did not go to court or repr...esent me to my wishes. I was not guilty of the offense and refused to pay to simply make it go away. Now it is in a warrant status. I requested that the attorney....or any qualified legal professional from that office.....contact me. That was one year ago......I'm still waiting. In short, I paid him for results I could have obtained without his "help".

I am sorry you were not satisfied. However we tell our clients the following: Based on your comments and/or questions it appears that you may wish to "fight" or "contest" your ticket. When an attorney hears these words it sounds like you are asking for a trial. WOULD YOU LIKE A TRIAL? I normally, charge $75 per offense if a case is not past due or in in warrant to negotiate with the prosecutor and/or court on your behalf to work out the best deal I can in a plea bargain. This may mean paying a fee to the court and it may or may not include a deferred adjudication (probation). If however, you would like a trial then I charge $500 as a trial fee. This client chose a plea bargain and is now complaining of the out come. If retained for a plea bargain, I will contact the court and notify them that I am your attorney. The court will respond back to me with a court date. Unless otherwise notified, defendants that retain an attorney normally do not need to appear in court. Your lawyer can do that for you. Our attorneys always look for a legal grounds for a dismissal, but if it is not present we will then seek to plea your case to the best deal available. If your case is not dismissed, I will then try and work out a deal to get you deferred adjudication (probation). The court can deny any request or add conditions to a probation. For example, if you are under 25 years old the State of Texas requires that you take a defensive driving class as a condition of probation. It does not matter if you have done the class in the last year. You can take it multiple times, as a condition of probation. Unless you retain us for a trial, there is no court date that the police officer that wrote the ticket must appear. Please keep in mind the following: just because you may not agree with the ticket, you think the ticket was written incorrectly, or the officer made some mistake, these are not legal grounds for a dismissal. These are trial issues. If you would like a trial we normally charge $500 for a bench trial in the DFW area traffic ticket courts. If your citation was in warrant, you would like a jury trial, or the ticket is in a court outside of our normal coverage area our fees may be more expensive. Obviously, there are never any guarantees to the outcome of a case, but most cases go through the courts without any problems. After, I have worked out the best deal I can for you, I will then send you a letter stating the outcome, how much your court fees are and when to pay them by. My attorney fees are not the court costs. By retaining me you are authorizing me to contact the court and prosecutor on your behalf, negotiate with the State, and sign any documents necessary in relation to the ticket. If you fail to follow my instructions on time then a warrant may issue for your arrest. If you move or change your contact information you must notify me in writing of the changes. If your follow these instructions, then there should not be a problem. You should plan from the moment you retain us for the worst case scenario: you may have to pay your full traffic ticket fine. If you plan for this in advance then you will not have a problem coming up with the money to pay the court. The most common reasons drivers are convicted include, but are not limited to: you are a CDL holder, your violations are deemed excessive by the court, your ticket has gone to warrant, you have multiple violations, you have a bad driving record, etc. We will do our best to negotiate on your behalf. However, there are no promises or guarantees to the outcome of your case.

Do not hire! I could have done a better job myself much cheaper

Do not hire Jack Byno! I got a speeding ticket in Joshua; for the first time ever I hired an attorney (Jack Byno) to help me with a speeding ticket. Big mistake. For comparison, when I got the ticket I called Joshua City Hall and I would have needed to pay $150 for deferred adjudication. SInce the go...al is to keep the ticket off my speeding record, I was ok with deferred adjudication, but thought an attorney could help me in some way beyond even deferred adjudication. I looked into hiring Jack Byno and saw that they wanted $75. I thought I would try them out. They appealed the ticket on 6/12, which is fine; this changed the venue to Johnson County rather than the city of Joshua. Then in July after weeks of no contact I got a letter from the law firm stating I owe $279 for deferred adjudication. I paid it immediately, but was surprised because early on I could have done deferred adjudication myself much, much cheaper. According to the county clerk's office, on 8/4 Mr. Byno appeared in court on my behalf and my deferred adjudication period began. (I did not know that I was definitely on deferred adjudication until now, 8/12, when I called the county clerk.) Thank you for nothing Byno Law Firm. NOTHING. I paid $200 more than I had to for the exact same result I would have gotten had I taken care of the ticket myself. When I called the law firm to ask why my cost was so high and in general what happened with my case, the woman (who did not identify herself when she answered the phone) stated my case was "late" which made it much more expensive. I said IF it was late, it was not a fault on my part. I hired them *right after* the ticket was issued and they have the gall to tell me the ticket was late. That piece of information was never communicated to me via letter, phone or e-mail. They have my address, phone and e-mail; communication from Mr. Byno's staff was so poor that I had to call the courthouse in Johnson County multiple times to find out what was going on. Don't expect this firm to keep you apprised of what is going on. If you need an attorney for a traffic ticket violation, keep looking. I had a terrible experience with my first time to hire an attorney for a traffic ticket. I could have gone to Joshua City Hall and paid the deferred adjudication fee the Monday after I got my ticket but thought an attorney would HELP me.
