Innovation is the catalyst of today's hard-charging world economy. A smart idea can be launched and widely adopted in a fraction of the time it once took.
The result is a torrid pace of concepts being developed, tested and brought to market. It's important in this highly competitive environment to protect your ideas, from the incubation stage through the process of approval by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
At the Eldredge Law Firm in Fort Worth, Texas, attorney Richard G. Eldredge is uniquely qualified among Texas patent attorneys to provide clients with full-service legal representation and guidance in patent prosecution.
The Background You Want Your Patent Attorney To Have
As a professional engineer with thousands of successful patent prosecutions to his name, Mr. Eldredge is that unique patent and trademark attorney who has a thorough understanding of what it takes to secure legal protection for a concept, a trade designation, a form of expression or a trade secret.
Key aspects of our firm's comprehensive patent services include:
Experience + qualifications — Mr. Eldredge is a certified professional engineer who earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in mechanical engineering. His law degree has an emphasis in intellectual property.
Fast-track patent turnaround — Because it can take two years or more for the USPTO to issue a patent, time is always of the essence. We complete the initial phase of the patent application process in one week or less, a fraction of the time it takes most lawyers. How do we accomplish this? Mr. Eldredge's extensive experience writing patent applications combined with his ability to create his own computer-aided design (CAD) drawings instead of outsourcing shaves weeks off of the process.
Competitive pricing — Our flat rate to prepare the patent application, including the formal drawings, is thousands of dollars less than standard patent attorney rates. Mr. Eldredge's broad-based skill set eliminates significant overhead out of the cost of doing business and we pass this savings on to our clients.
Free extras — We perform a patent search and trademark filing free when preparing a patent application.
Fast and personalized prosecution — Mr. Eldredge interviews the patent examiners personally in order to expedite the prosecution of clients' applications.
International patent applications — We have worked with Fortune 500 companies as well as smaller entrepreneurs and inventors, both domestically and internationally in a broad array of industries, including aeronautical, medical and utilities. Mr. Eldredge has prosecuted hundreds of international patent applications and worked alongside foreign patent agents and attorneys.
We also handle all aspects of negotiating and reviewing licensing contracts involving patents, intellectual property, trademarks and copyrights. Whether you are looking to enter into a marketing agreement or form a business partnership, we can negotiate a licensing contract that protects your intellectual property rights and meets your needs.
The first step to protecting your ideas is to schedule a free consultation with our Fort Worth patent lawyer by calling or using the contact form on this website. We work with clients throughout north Texas, as well as nationally and internationally.

If you value your IP DO NOT hire this attorney!!! I filed a provisional application on my own and hired him(his firm) to write and file a PCT application. There was a time limit to file the PCT application, which he was informed of. He said no problem, we can have it done by then. The deadline came...

Firstly, this was all my fault. I saw the red flags but was blinded by taking action to turn an idea in my head into a reality. Jumped right in and paid $5000 in full to start the process. Brandon even encouraged me to start manufacturing my product which included having a custom mold made for $12...

I had a horrible experience with a previous attorney in the DFW area. That attorney was the owner of a small firm and worked by himself. He was also a Mechanical Engineer. The patent application that he wrote was rejected. I found Mr. Eldredge and discussed the case with him. Mr. Eldredge amende...

A big failure and disappointment. I wish I had hired someone else. I hired him because he had a decent rating and he sounded qualified over phone. First, things seemed smooth and fast. He asked few questions and quickly generated the application based on my written description of the design. He...
It is important to remember that the vast majority of patent applications require 2-4 rounds of edits/amendments and three years before they are ultimately granted. And virtually every such edit narrows the scope of what your patent can protect. We explain this to all of our new clients, though we understand when they become frustrated with the process. One of the values of our firm is how we protect the scope of each clients' claims while seeking their registration. Sam a lot of your concerns seem to address how our firm approaches this process. Feel free to reach out to us and we would be happy to either clarify the approach or, if you prefer, to modify it
