Elliott E. Burdette

Elliott has dedicated his law practice to guiding his clients through the probate process and preparing wills, living trusts, and other estate planning documents. He is skilled at managing family conflicts which arise both before and after the death of any important family member.

Elliott has maintained an AV preeminent (highest possible) rating for both legal ability and ethical standards since 1994 from Martindale-Hubbell, a nationally recognized attorney rating system. His estate planning practice focus with Glast, Phillips & Murray, P.C. is dedicated to estate planning for individuals and married couples. His probate practice includes estates, whether simple or complex, in which the decedent died with or without a will.  His strategies often involve the use of revocable “living” trusts. He places a special emphasis on protection against claims made against a child's inheritance by their creditors and divorcing spouses, along with seeking to avoid costs associated with probate and court created guardianships.

Elliott received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Texas at Austin and also attended The American University of Paris. He has practiced law in Dallas since graduating from The Southern Methodist University School of Law.

Elliott was elected as a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation in 2006. He previously served as the Dallas Bar Association’s Chair of the Minority Participation Committee, the DBA Chair of the Admissions and Membership Committee, and the DBA Chair of the Solo and Small Firm Section. He has been a speaker at the Dallas Bar Association on multiple occasions on the topic of: “Will or Trust: Which is better for the client?"
