I first met Edward Ackels in June, 2019, when I offered to hire an attorney to help a colleague and friend with a very complicated legal dispute over the ownership of ...the home she occupied and believed was hers. She had selected Edward Ackels from a list recommended by the State Bar of Texas. We have since marveled at our good fortune to have found Mr. Ackels seemingly by a stroke of fate. At our initial meeting we were deeply touched by the compassion he demonstrated as he listened to my friend’s story which was a difficult one to tell. She walked into the meeting feeling victimized and helpless but left feeling empowered and hopeful. From that first meeting until the final resolution of her case at the end of January, 2020, Mr. Ackels impressed us with his professionalism, knowledge of the law, willingness to fight for her interest, and unwavering support through setbacks. He wrote a masterful brief and filed a lawsuit on her behalf which is what finally brought serious negotiations and ultimately a successful out of court resolution. During the entire 8 months, he communicated constantly with us and always did whatever was necessary to try and resolve her case. Success, in a case which seemed to have little chance legally, finally came due to Edward Ackels’ skill and perseverance. We both will be forever grateful. His receptionist was able to get me to him immediately (miraculous for an attorney who is usually in court most of the time). He answered all my questions & when I asked about payment he said it was okay since I was a...bout to be homeless due to a heartless landlord (MacArthur Place @183 who changed leasing timeframe from 11/16-2/18 in digital lease to 11/16-11/17 in physical lease) throwing me on the street as a disabled person whose disability app hasn't been processed in time... Not many attorneys would do this for you...
