I hired this lawyer when I was in trouble for the first time, and was not sure what to do. He seemed knowledgeable and kind so I did not get enough prospects. It was disappointing that after our initial meeting communication seemed to drop off and requests for return phone calls and updates weee not ...returned, or hasty replies were given that still left me confused. When I was able to get someone on the paralegal on the phone I was given conflicting information from the brief moments I spent with Mark. He assured me nothing was going on with my case, but didn't always return calls or honor any requests for explanations of what to expect or what was happening. It has been difficult emotionally to live with what I thought were pending felony charges for seven months. The fact of the matter is that a family member is very ill, and I would have benefited by visiting them two months after my arrest when I was exonerated as it is not a good time now, I am sober and have a new job shout FMLA and the relative is deteriorating in a foreign hospital. I was jailed in mid-August and the DA asked the case be rejected and thrown out mid-October. I was told by Mark that there were no developments on my case until his last week, 5 months after I'd be exonerated from everything He'd called to collect the full fee for the process of dismissal, not rejection. I mentioned this, and he said it would take a long time to issue a refund after ii severed the relationship. At the same time his paralegal sent me a warning letter indicating that I had violated the contract I nimplicitt agreed to though I'd not read or sign e it. The contract had several pieces of information that were incorrect and did not make sense as a legally binding contract. After I severed the relationship and asked for a itemized list of charges from the retainer, but was denied. The email stated they would not pursue legal collections against me for the entire $20,000. As the email was sent, they did not have copies of documents from the DA. I contacted them directly to receive my case files after several attempts at receiving them from Mark. It is difficult as if I'd known I was free and clear five months ago, I would have gone to see my family member sooner. The paper was filed October 15, and Mark said there was no news until a few days ago. That DA's office has had minimal if any contact with the lawyer. If I sever the contract I should receive an itemized list of work done as well as a copy of my case file and evidence that any deadlines were met and detailing work done but I've not been given anything but text that conflicts with the email saying he would compile and refund any money not earned. The fee dispute is separate from the lack of Communication, failure to deliver important info, failure to provide case files, and failure to provide proof that timelines were met. It has been difficult emotionally and financially. I would not personally recommend this lawyer.,

I hired Mr Perez for my 2 cases. He agreed to defend me but never did. For the money I paid him, I asked him what have you done so far? Wouldn't answer my questions or calls. Finally, he came in person and was very rude, threw papers at me on desk. So I asked him, "Are you going to defend me? ... He said "No!" So he lied to me about defending me. I terminated him! Then from my next attorney I found out Mr Perez had WITHHELD 13 DVDs of discovery from me. Would not recommend him. Awful. Lost a lot of money.

Mark A. Perez showed the utmost professionalism while representing my son in federal court. Mr. Perez always kept me updated on information concerning the case and court dates and he visited my son on a regular basis during his incarceration in Seagoville Texas while awaiting his trial. Mr. Perez di...splayed his diligence in knowledge of how the law is interpreted while working this case in federal court and he was able with the evidence presented to bring back a not guilty verdict for my son. Our family will forever be grateful for his service to us and I highly recommend Mark A. Perez for your legal representation and for his professionalism.

We have bad experience with Mr. Perez, first at all he does not speak Spanish, although his announcement say so. He never retuned our calls, email or texts. He went to see my brother at jail one month after he was hired, always giving an excuses for not visiting him. Every time we asking him to see ...the evidence against my brother he provided us a contradictory information. He is incompetent and unprepared attorney, or he is just lazy. I not recommend this attorney. not spend your money and losing your time.
