The Pounders Law Firm is committed to providing for the special needs of small and growing businesses. That’s why we’re here. It’s not just our business, it’s our passion.
We’re not just lawyers, we’re also legal counselors. And we realize exceptional results for our clients by adhering to our core values:
Individualize
Every small business is unique, and has unique needs and objectives. Understanding this, we avoid the “cookie – cutter” approach most law firms apply to their small business clients. Our approach and methodology is unique for each client. And our goal is 100% satisfaction.
Follow-through
We understand that a growing business is constantly changing. Consequently, some of the good and informed decisions made today may not to be the right decision for your business tomorrow. That is why we will periodically check on you and your business, and recommend changes when appropriate, so that your goals continued to be met even in changing times.
Innovate
The Pounders Law Firm actively seeks to increase its effectiveness through available technology. It partners only with those legal technology companies that meet our strict standards of excellence. And we develop our own proprietary approaches where there are “gaps” in the technology marketplace.
Convenience
We understand that the owners of small businesses often have multiple business engagements. Because of this we maintain flexible hours and will provide you with multiple avenues for contacting us.
Tracy A. Pounders, Attorney and Counselor at Law
I have been practicing law in the Dallas area for over 25 years. After graduating from SMU Law School in 1986 I worked for two years in the Dallas office of Arthur Andersen & Co, in the Tax Division. For fifteen years after that I was an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dallas, where I practiced primarily in the transactional side of the practice of law. During that time I negotiated and drafted many of the City’s highest profile sports and entertainment deals, including the move of the NHL Dallas Stars from Minnesota to Dallas, the 1994 World Cup leases/licenses, and the development of the Women’s Museum at Fair Park, among others. And immediately prior to starting The Pounders Law Firm, PLLC I was a Partner with Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, a large multi-state law firm, in its Dallas Litigation Division.
During these years I’ve been honored to serve the community in several ways. Currently I'm the State Chancellor for the Texas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Recently I stepped down after eight years as the Chairman of the Dallas County Trails & Preserve Program Board. I am a Past President of the Dallas Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, Past Chairman of the Board for the Canterbury House Episcopal Ministry at SMU, a retired Municipal Court Judge from Cedar Hill and Grand Prairie, Past Chairman of the Dallas Bar Association Sports and Entertainment Law Section, Past President of the Cedar Hill Community Development Board, and Past Vice President of the Cedar Hill Park Board. I am currently serving as a member of the boards of: Cedar Hill Education Foundation, Community ISD Education Foundation, Melissa Area Chamber of Commerce, Melissa Education Foundation, Prosper Chamber of Commerce, and Prosper Historical Society.

"I have known Tracy for the last several years, both prior to becoming an attorney when I worked for his firm as a Legal Assistant and after passing the bar and becoming licensed. He has helped guide me both personally and professionally. He is a zealous advocate for his municipal and small business clients. He is heavily involved in his community. I heartily recommend him for your small business and ad valorem tax collection needs."
"I have known Mr. Pounders professionally for more than fifteen years. He is a very capable lawyer, with 25 years of experience in law. I have a great deal of confidence in him as a lawyer. And his community involvement and leadership is outstanding: from his years as a judge to the many non-profits he has set up, and to the board of directors of multiple community organizations that he generously gives his time and service to. I strongly recommend him to you."
"I endorse this lawyer. Mr. Tracy Pounders has been practicing law for twenty-five years. I have sought his counsel on several legal matters relating to government law and general corporate matters, and he has been very helpful. He is a good lawyer and he is easy to work with. He is also a retired judge and noted community leader. I strongly recommend him to you."
"I have known Tracy since our student days at SMU Law School and worked with him for a number of years in a professional setting. Tracy is a natural and proactive problem solver. He is talented in identifying the heart of a problem or what it is a client really needs and providing the most practical and efficient solution. He has been in the business of providing business and tax advice for a number of years, and I recommend him to you for the legal needs of your small business."
