Elaine was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 2001. She received her Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, and she earned her Bachelor of Arts (double majors in Political Science and Sociology) from Southern Methodist University. Evans is a member of the exclusive Texas Bar College, a designation reserved for those completing an extraordinary amount of continuing legal education. She is originally from Camden, Arkansas and an avid Razorback fan.
Prior to entering private practice, Elaine served as a prosecutor at the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office for nearly 15 years. During her tenure at the DA’s office, she served in the family violence division, child abuse division and both the misdemeanor and felony trial divisions. Elaine was a Chief Felony Prosecutor for more than 9 years, where she supervised other up and coming prosecutors and managed the daily docket of all cases assigned to the Court. Most recently, Evans served as a criminal defense attorney in anoher local law firm, handling both felony and misdemeanor cases in Dallas, Denton, Collin, Rockwall, Van Zandt, Ellis and Smith counties. She looks forward to expanding her practice to other surrounding counties, such as, Kaufman, Henderson, Tarrant, Hunt, and Grayson.
Having tried more than 100 jury trials, Evans represents clients facing criminal charges such as murder, manslaughter, aggravated robbery, aggravated sexual assault, burglary, driving while intoxicated and drug possession offenses. As a highly skilled, effective trial attorney, she is eager to help each client achieve the best possible resolution.
