I won't recommend

He was good at first then started lying about what was going to happen in the case.

Hind sight is 20/20

I'm typically not the person to write a review. Generally I would only leave a star rating. However, this time I felt compelled to post this review. I contracted Mr Harrelson 05/24 for a total of 5 traffic citations (1 with the Forney Municipal, and 4 with Mesquite Municipal Courts). Back story.... Last year I began the journey of correcting my history of warrants which has caused the loss of employment opportunities in my occupational field of choice. Now prior to contacting Mr Harrelson. I had successfully cleaned up over 15 warrants personally with Dallas Municipal and 2 separate Dallas County Courts. Leaving the 5 warrants issued by Forney and Mesquite to handle. In 07/24 I completed the payment plan that was established with Mr Harrelson so that he could begin to work on my warrants. Even though communication with Mr Harrelson was little to none. Ms Coretta made certain that I stayed informed of the progress. Initial courts for both municipalities where set and missed by Mr Harrelson for extenuating circumstances. Which I perfectly understood and didn't press or become irate about. However I managed to definitely lose 2 opportunities because the initial misses (which later I believe turned into neglect because of the concluded amount time it took for him to adjudicate my cases) Ultimately he did not concluded my warrants until 12/24 (Forney) and 01/25 (Mesquite). The day that he finally sent the last official court document for Mesquite. He called me, at which time I was at a grocery and was unable to read over documents. He advised that he was calling because Ms Coretta probably informed him that the dollar amount he agreed to on my behalf would not be accepted by me. He advised that generally when represents people in Mesquite. He would receive 30 to 40% reduction in fine amounts for his clients to pay. Which I would have been fine with. However once I was able to review the documents, and based on my calculations. He was only able to negotiate a 16% total reduction, and going even further he advised that if the judgement didn't suffice I could go to open docket for Mesquite and plead my case on my own. When all was said and done. This entire situation left me thinking that I should have handled this on my own. Thanks for doing what I probably could have done for myself without having to pay you $400.

If I could leave 0stars I would

I heard him on the radio for tickets I needed to be resolved for my boyfriend. My boyfriend called and set up a payment plan and was told as soon as paid he would complete the tickets. Once they were paid we waited months for a response and when he finally answered he was rude and entitled . He did n...ot offer results and he still hasn’t ,

"A Lie travels half way around the world while the truth is putting its shoes on" Here is the truth. I was this client's 3rd Attorney. It's true that he was my client for almost 7 months, but why would he stay with me for 7 months? Here is why. This client had been to prison (no big deal), he accepted 10 years straight probation before he hired me. When he accepted this probation, the judge stated that he didn't want to see him in his court anymore. Subsequently when he hired me, he stated his previous 2 attorneys didn't attempt to get him a bond. I filed the Motion immediately. The client was charged with Arson less than a year after accepting probation for climbing through a doggie dog with a gas can threating to burn his girlfriends house down. He also had a felony Assault on a Peace Officer and a Felony Resisting Arrest. I got the Arson reduced to a Burglary so that his ex-girlfriend could sign an affidavit. The Felony Assault was dismissed and the Felony Resisting was reduced to a Misdemeanor. He was being offered 15 years in prison and so far I had talked them down to five. He stated he didn't hire me to fight his cases, he only hired me to get him a bond and he would take the Burglary charge to trial. I asked, how do we explain the gas, matches and the fire. He got angry, fired me and had someone post this review because he is in jail. I talked to the judge 5 different times and even sent another attorney from my firm to talk to the judge. The Judge told everyone that would listen that he would NOT give this client a bond. His mother, brother and girlfriend begged me to remain on his cases due to the work I had put in, but due to posting negative reviews for the world to see and other actions attempting to defame me, I refused to remain his attorney. I also refunded some his money so that he could hire someone else but no good deed goes unpunished.

I feel ripped off!

About 4 weeks ago, I paid Mr. Harrelson in FULL to handle some traffic tickets. Since then, I have not heard from him or anyone in his office. I explained my sense of urgency but apparently that didn't matter. Last I checked, tickets didn't take this long to resolve. I've called, emailed and left nu...merous messages to no avail. How disappointing. A simple phone call goes a long way. I wouldn't recommend this attorney to anyone. Let's see if the Bar Association will help me get my money back.

Sad Shay failed to mention several items in her review. (1) that these tickets were more than 11 years old. (2) She had hired a previous attorney that got off of her case. (3) Sad Shay's card was initially declined and when we received a payment it was May 21st which was 3 weeks ago not 4 weeks. If you consider mail time, by the time the court notified my firm that the bonds would not be accepted some time had lapsed. I had to personally appear in court in order to get the bonds posted since they could not reach the previous attorney. Sad Shay sat on these tickets for more than 11 years but expected the warrants to be lifted overnight without disclosing all of the information. We only charged her $350 for 4 tickets with warrants which is far below market rate. Also, one of these tickets were in Waskom, Texas (last Texas city before reaching Shreveport & my office is in Dallas). Sad Shay did not spend a night a jail and with the exception of the Waskom ticket, 3 of the 4 citations will be dismissed.
