Run far away!

Vickie seemed very resourceful and knowledgeable during our initial consultation. After hiring her, she failed and disappointed me beyond belief. Her indolence caused me to lose more rights than I had before I hired her

Custody and visitation

Failed to communicate main issues. Failed to represent and keep me updated on costs hrly and documented time . failed to bring out main issues . failed to keep me knowledgeable about my particular case. Failed to represent me when needed most. Morally not sound does not seem to care about the clients... welfare representation.

Best I've Seen Yet

Ms. Vickie was very helpful in my husbands case. My husband was having to pay child support for years for a child that was not his. So when I found out I made him take paternity and we called her and she got all of his back child support as well as the current child support dismissed. Also she got hi...m custody of the daughter that is his and put the mother on child support since his daughter as living with him anyway and he was still paying child support. The mother is now paying child support to him.

NOT an advocate

My husband is incarcerated and Vickie was appointed to help us. She did not advocate for him at all and lied to us in the mediation process to get him to accept the mediation. She emailed me the day before mediation and said she was fighting for him to keep his parental rights and for the children to... come and live with me and then in the mediation she said I do not have standing and that his family did not "step up" so he needed to give up his parental rights. Vickie had my husband's sister's and grown daughter's contact information and both were willing to take the children yet she did not contact them. She did no investigation on his case, and she didn't even meet him until 5 minutes before mediation started though he was in Dallas for several days prior. She was rude to me and to my husband and completely unhelpful. If you get her as a court appointed attorney ask for another one! Maybe she actually helps the people who hire her, but she does nothing for people who cannot afford a lawyer.

Excellent Lawyer

What a blessing to have Vickie on our side representing us. My husband and I have used Vickie for 3 family court cases. She is a shark in the courtroom and full of suprises. It is rare you see a lawyer that is passionate about the Fathers rights. Her paralegal, Kala, is very smart and informative. Ve...ry proffesional and will guide you through the entire process. Taking the high road is what she is all about and making the right choices throughout the process. I can not speak enough good words about Vickie and her entire staff.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"Vickie and I were involved in a week long trial involving CPS to determine the conservatorship of two children. She had the unenviable task of representing a father whose parental rights were terminated by the State. Vickie represented her client zealously and was a consummate professional. I wholeheartedly endorse her and her abilities as a family law attorney."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
