Mr. Spencer began his criminal defense practice in 2014 after working as a prosecutor for over three years. Mr. Spencer's first job was as an assistant district attorney for Potter County. During his time in Potter County Mr. Spencer worked as a grand jury prosecutor and as a felony trial lawyer. As a grand jury prosecutor Mr. Spencer would present cases to the grand jury to determine whether or not someone should be indicted for a felony offense. Then Mr. Spencer transitioned into a felony trial lawyer. During his time as a felony trial lawyer, Mr. Spencer tried a variety cases ranging from theft and drug possession to murder and aggravated assault.
Mr. Spencer decided to leave the office when he and his wife got engaged. Since she refused to move up to Amarillo, Mr. Spencer moved back to Plano, where he had graduated from Plano East Senior High School in 2001. After moving back to Plano, Mr. Spencer was hired by the Hunt County Attorney's Office, where he worked as a misdemeanor trial lawyer. Shortly after he began working there, Mr. Spencer realized he wanted to start a criminal defense practice and left the office a short time later.

Great job!
Amazing! I called him the day before my court date and he came ready and prepared! He lowered my punishment and even typed up a great letter for me to take into work for my job. Very professional and very quick! For my 1st time needing a lawyer, it was a great experience giving him behind me the who...

Knows his stuff & keeps on top of it!
My case was minor, but it needed to be dealt with in a certain amount of time and Wesley was a great help. Always available via phone or text and the service was at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Wes to anyone who needs his services.

Worse Investment Of My Life
I had no prior criminal history to this case. I was facing a felony charge for protecting my dad's farm animals from a pack of stray dogs; I had killed one of the dogs. This lawyer made very little time for me and my case but I had already paid him thousands. I needed character witnesses to come t...
The client and myself had discussed our strategy heading into the punishment hearing multiple times. Entering the hearing both him and his wife agreed to our strategy. Now after the hearing didn't go our way he wants to blame me for his actions. He killed a neighbor's pet which posed no threat to him or anyone else. The client was given his opportunity to give his version of the events in court as he took the stand in the hearing. I too was disappointed in the outcome after multiple witnesses testified for my client in regards to his outstanding character. I wish my former client all the best moving forward.
"Wes is a fantastic lawyer. I saw him convince a Judge to do give his client a sweetheart deal that I never would have expected. The Judge responded to Wes’ passion and care for his client and she was very lucky to have him representing her. I endorse Wes wholeheartedly."
"Wes is a sensational lawyer. He is focused, energetic, and truly talented in the courtroom. I most-certainly endorse Wes."
"I recently met Wesley and observed first hand his skill in presentation of a criminal case. I walked away extremely impressed with his tenacity and attention to detail. I endorse this lawyer."
"I endorse this lawyer. Wes is super enthusiastic and takes each case seriously. High energy. Great results."
