James Anthony Giries

I feel it necessary to warn others that this Attorney. although kind, will not represent you well. I did most of the work with my case and had to follow up on just about everything. I had a very difficult time reaching Mr. Giries and could not get quality work from him at all. There were constant e...rrors and I spent a lot of time reviewing and handling issues. I do not feel like he worked for me on my case at all. The final issue was a complete lack of preparation for a settlement conference. I should not have continued with the conference but for some reason I did. I wanted things to work out and get finalized. It of course did not end well and now I am forced to spend more money and seek a new attorney for a trial. I knew I would need a new attorney anyway if it went to trial but I thought Mr. Giries could help me keep that from happening. This was not a hard case at all. The main concerns were that I did not trust the accuracy or validity of Mr. Giries work. Divorce is a VERY stressful time especially with young children involved. You really need to have an attorney you feel confident in and this was certainly NOT how I felt with Mr. Giries. I gave it as much time as I could and then eventually had to seek a different attorney. I do not want someone else to have to go through what I did. What was thought to be a pretty simple case has turned into a disaster that is now going on the 6th month. We should have been able to settle things and it is now going to a trial. I am very disappointed in the way Mr. Giries handled my case. From losing paperwork to no communication to errors that cost me money and a lot of time, there were not many things that went smooth. Even accounting and billing had to be carefully reviewed. (I only received one accounting statement in the now 6 months) I hate to write such a negative review however I would have avoided this attorney had I seen other poor reviews prior to hiring. I hope this helps save someone the same stress and heartache I have had to go through. My new Attorney accomplished more in 2 hours than Mr. Giries did in a month. Even the last item I needed from him never happened and I gave it a week. My new Attorney did it while I was in her office for the 1st meeting. Please choose your attorney wisely and get a referral if you can. Divorce is a very difficult thing to have to handle on your own. If you do not feel confident, move on until you find the right one.

James Giries helped me keep my children from a bad situation. I approached James around November of 2012 about my children's visitation with their father declining at a steady rate. He was just going down a road that was very impressionable to the children and I didn't want them in that environment. ... James made sure to keep me informed at all times of the case and what was happening. He even made sure I had a copy of everything once it was received in his office. He was very organized and made sure I understood all the facts of the case before going to the next step. He was clear and concise with each move that we could make. He was a little slow on getting me the bill for his services, but that allowed me time to get the money together too. James was able to get the court to order my children's father to go to counseling, go to rehab, and limited the visitation, even made it supervised. He did an amazing job of making sure that my children were taken care of. That is what is most important to me in the whole world and he understood that. I know that next time I need some legal advise or help, James will be the one I call. I have already referred him to my friends in need. James Giries was a wonderful attorney in my case. I couldn't have asked for a better man with great like-minded values.

First off, I've talked to plenty of lawyers and its a rush off the phone and just flat out don't care. When i spoke with Mr. Giries he not only told what i needed to now but told me what i needed to do step by step even though i really didn't have a case. He really put me at ease with my situation....
