Biography
Shelley Levisay is the Shawnee Litigator. She has the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System contract for Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties and is on the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Western District of Oklahoma for federal criminal defense. She takes private cases in federal, state, and tribal courts. Her practice focuses primarily on criminal defense while taking some estate planning and family law cases as well as conducting mediations. When she is not in court, she is writing legal thrillers and true crime books, singing in choir, or competing with her dog in competitions. She has received the Golden Quill Award for excellence in writing from the Oklahoma Bar Association Criminal Law Section, where she writes a column on the opinions of the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals. She has published two articles with the Oklahoma Bar Journal.
