First and foremost, I am a trial attorney.  I practice in many areas of law in state, federal and municipal court.  I know what is necessary to build a case and to present it to a judge or jury so that you win. Being a trial attorney is not a skill that all lawyers have.  A good trial attorney is a good story teller who uses their knowledge of the evidence and the law to convey the story of your case to the judge and the jury so you win.  Regardless of the area of law you need assistance in, when I accept you as a client I prepare your case from day one as if it is going to be tried to a judge or jury.  Preparing a case in this mindset ensures that throughout the process of developing your case, no stone goes unturned and we examine every possible avenue of recovery.  This approach also lets our opposing counsel know that we aren't making frivilous claims looking for nuisance value settlements.  If we file a claim on your behalf its because I believe in it enough to invest my own time and money to help you.

I think the most important thing that every client and attorney need is a trust relationship.  Clients rely on the attorney in times of high conflict and turmoil.  You must pick an attorney whom you absolutely trust to not just tell you what you want to hear but also what you need to hear.  A good attorney listens to thier clients and knows what the goal is from the start of a claim.  Further as litigation progresses, a good attorney is able to watch for the signs of impending victory or defeat to steer the case back on path and onto the right path to vistory.

I believe our judicial system is the best in the world. I believe in the power of the jury system and the integrity of our courts.  This doesn't mean that I believe the system is perfect as there is always room for improvement. However, I do believe our system is set up to be just and fair to all parties. Civil rights and protecting the rights of the most vuneralble people in our society is a passion of mine.  I believe in fighting causes because its the right thing to do regardless of money.  To change the world we all have to be wiling to step out onto the limbs of life and take a leap of faith.

I promise that if you choose me and Bussett Legal Group as the firm you want to take a leap of faith with, we will be by your side fighting everyday from the first day to get you what you deserve out of your lawsuit.

Children/DHS type case
Rachel & her team have gone up against Dhs for us/our children. Dhs removed the kids from us (Grandparents) & their mother. Placed them in the home of their abusers parents house... the father physically/sexually abused them (Dhs confirmed that fact thru their Forensic exam)! Then turned around & placed the children w/the abusers parents where the abuse took place! It has been a year long battle but we thank God for Rachel & her team of knowledable whistle blowers speaking out about Dhs & civil rights being violated by the department (she is a warrior in/out of the court room! We have another upcoming court date next week so prayers are appreciated!

School/IEP Meeting
Rachel took the case with extremely late notice. She prepped the best should could of course and very quickly. She tried to understand the best she could of the child's medical complications as well as education and academic nightmares. A child whom has regressed in 3 years and has dropped over all IQ and Functional/WISC testing. He has been in-patient on more then one occasion to a hospital facility. As you can grasp without dragging this out - she was given a week to prep. She made it happen, came to the meeting to not only help but positively help, not come at them like we are going to war. But in a demeanor of "ok folks", y'all know it's time - it's time to do the right thing! Give the child what he deserves; what he deserves without disability and rights being violated. Very professional and overall great choice! Thanks Rachel, the battle I was fighting before your presence, guidance and assistance was exhausting.

She fights for her clients and takes the time to listen and explain the legal process
I consulted Rachel and hired her for an employment claim. The case is still ongoing but my experience working with her has been great. Rachel is professional and very responsive. She takes the time to explain the legal process and is quick to answer questions and prepare her clients. She has also been very compassionate and understanding to my cause. I feel like she really listens to my concerns and has addressed each one.

There is Attorneys, and then there's Rachel Bussett
After my initial consultation for bankruptcy, she went into action and made my creditors back off and quit harassing me day and night. While my case is still ongoing, I can at least answer my phone knowing someone isn't harassing me over a bill or fee that I can no longer pay.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
"Intelligent, Honest, and Compassionate. These are but just a few words to describe the values that Rachel upholds. She's dedicated to her clients and her craft. She's fearless in her fight for justice and quick to adapt if and when the need calls for it. When it comes time to find someone to stand up for you, you want someone with the courage to do so, you'll find that with Rachel. I would highly recommend her to those in need of help in a system where such courage is often lacking."
