In that interest, David is one of the select attorneys who’s graduated from the prestigious Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in 2015. The College is dedicated to helping people and only allows attorneys who represent them. As a result, government prosecutors and insurance defense attorneys are prohibited from attending. Its 3-week intensive curriculum focuses on jury trials and how to successfully help those facing difficult odds. David in one of approximately 10 Oklahoma City criminal lawyers to complete this intensive trial college.

David is also a proud member of esteemed legal organizations such as the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), which offers advanced training for attorneys specializing in DUI defense. Membership indicates a commitment to staying updated on DUI defense strategies and expertise in this area of law. These course have included the Criminal Defense Institute (numerous times), Top Shelf DUI Defense, Forensics Academy (numerous times) Defeating Drug Dogs, and has taught at “DUI Update and Driver’s License Issues”. Furthermore, David received the distinction of Rising Star by Oklahoma Super Lawyers for numerous years, an accolade bestowed upon him by his peers.

David served with honor as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, completing a tour of duty in Iraq where he earned numerous awards and recognition for serving his country. Afterward, he gained hands-on experience at the Oklahoma County Public Defender's Office, where he learned the inner workings of the Oklahoma criminal justice system, advocating for the vulnerable, and giving voice to the voiceless.

When David is outside of court, he is a loving husband and father of two daughters.
