Christopher H. Baker

I'm Christopher Baker, a trial attorney with Parker-Baker in Little Rock, and I defend people facing serious criminal charges in Arkansas state and federal courts while also handling civil litigation matters.

Most of my practice is federal criminal defense — cases in the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas and appeals before the Eighth Circuit. I've argued constitutional challenges to federal firearms statutes, served as specialized counsel on federal sentencing questions, and worked on capital cases involving complex mental-health and competency issues. A lot of my work comes down to one thing: taking apart the government's experts. Whether it's ballistics, cell-site data, or a mental-health evaluation, I dig into the technical details most attorneys leave alone.

Before law school I spent years in public service, including time in the U.S. Navy as a submarine Fire Control Technician. That background shaped how I approach a case — methodical, prepared, and calm under pressure.

I know that being charged with a crime, or pulled into a lawsuit, is one of the most stressful things a person goes through. My job is to explain what's actually happening in plain language, tell you honestly where you stand, and fight hard for the best result possible. I was selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Criminal Defense in 2025 and 2026.
