Stephen Anthony Shoptaw

Worst attorney ever. He was hired based on a friends advice for her adoption case and reviews. My friend gave him 3000 as a down payment for a custody case. She never heard from him again until she asked to meet him a few days before her hearing. She had to ASK HIM--he never tried to meet her. She t...old him stuff that she had on her ex.....he said the hearing was only 30 minutes and they did not need it. At the hearing, it was unbelievable. You would be in awe how unprepared Stephen Shoptaw was. The hearing in Saline county is 3 hours long-not 30 minutes. He was not prepared and did nothing but show up. He got no financial records. He told her to not bring anything with her. She lost custody of her children and didn't even get joint custody. They asked for their money back and Shoptaw's secretary threatened to call the police, made them leave, and then locked the door behind him. Then, he sent an email accusing her of mental illness. I have never seen anyone so eager to get 3000 FREE $$, so unprepared, and such a bad lawyer. My jaw dropped after the hearing just because we used him based off these reviews. He actually tried to pay her to take down this review....Be careful people. He's a horrible lawyer.

I was charged with DWI and some other traffic offenses, he used a book that sets the standards for field sobriety and the cop had never even seen it, so he argued that he did not have the right to arrest me and the judge side with him. great lawyer I would recommend him to anyone he is easy to talk ...to. Price was fair too.
