Jody E. Anderman

Jody Anderman earned his undergraduate degree in Accounting fromLouisiana State University in 1985 and then attended LSU Law School. Aftergraduating from law school in 1988, where he was the recipient of the AmericanJurisprudence Awards in Louisiana Civil Procedure and Louisiana Sales, he beganhis legal career as a defense attorney with one of Baton Rouge's largest lawfirms. Although he gained valuable experience as a defense lawyer, he had astrong desire to represent working men and women, aggrieved consumers andothers who have suffered significant losses and began doing so in 1992.

Since 1992, Mr. Anderman has represented thousands of individuals whohave been injured in accidents or exposed to hazardous substances, such as Asbestos. He has also represented thousands of consumers who have been victimsof fraud. Most notably, he was lead counsel in several class actions filedagainst insurance companies involving "vanishing premium" lifeinsurance policies. Many of those cases resulted in multimillion-dollarsettlements. The insurance cases were based on representations that monthlypremiums would vanish after a stated number of years. Mr. Anderman wasinstrumental in negotiating settlements valued at $70 million against NationalLife of Vermont, $128 million against Allmerica Financial Life, and $69.4million against Lincoln National Life Insurance Company. Mr. Anderman was alsolead counsel in a number of other similar cases, all-resulting in substantialsettlements.

For the last decade, Mr. Anderman has primarily focused his practice onhelping those injured as a result of being exposed to Asbestos.  He has been instrumental in thecollection of millions of dollars of verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Mr.Anderman is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and American BarAssociations, as well as the Louisiana and American Trial Lawyers Associations.
