Many people ask me "when did you decide to become a lawyer". It goes back to when I was a teenager and my sister died because of the neglegence of doctors during "routine" wisdom teeth extraction. My sister, Marcae, suffered a violent reaction to general anesthesia and after several wrong decisions by her doctors, she passed at the age of 20. My parents were thoughtful people and sought help and education so that my brother and myself would be protected from similar fates during our lives. They received some wonderful help from many, and not so much from others. There were lawyers involved who completely botched their duties as advocates and counselors. After a poorly handled malpractice case was dismissed, my parents were confronted with having to fight the battle of legal malpractice. My father was an extemely intelligent man who was a giant in his field of expertise, but he felt helpless in dealing with this most difficult life circumstance. I knew from watching him deal with these events that I did not want to experience such roadblocks in my life and, in fact, I wanted to help people manuever through the minefields that confront them in life. My entire career in the practice of law has been to help people during the most difficult moments in their lives. I will continue to fight these fights.

I am not the type of person who would go to a lawyer for any reasons but I realized when there is a situation where you need somebody to help you resolve a case, you can count on a reliable lawyer who will be there for you from start to the end. That's what Atty. James P. Mannasseh is. His law firm...
"I endorse this lawyer and am proud to have him as my law partner. Jimmy Manasseh or “Manasseh” as he is called by many beloved clients is a master strategist devoted to obtaining the very best result for those protected by his representation. Manasseh’s former and present clients range from high profile executives, musicians and athletes to those less fortunate who are fighting charges against a challenging legal system. Manasseh has put together a team of highly skilled and experienced attorneys (including some former state and federal prosecutors) that take on a variety of cases including criminal defense, personal injury, family law and environmental law. There is rarely a legal issue that Manasseh and his team have not encountered and overcome through their many years of combined experience. It is true that Manasseh is who other lawyers call when a family member or friend needs a good attorney."
"I have worked for Jimmy Manasseh in the past. We graduated from law school together. We have been friends for over 35 years now. I refer Jimmy and/or his firm to any person who asks me if I know a good criminal defense attorney, even if they are not living in Louisiana. I have referred hundreds of clients over the past 35 years and I will continue to do so. Jimmy has built the largest and most successful criminal defense firm in Baton Rouge and perhaps in the state of Louisiana. I give Jimmy my highest recommendation. Lindsey J. Leavoy"
"I whole-heartedly endorse this lawyer. Jimmy does a fantastic job for his clients. I am always comfortable referring cases to Jimmy."
"Jimmy Manasseh is an elite criminal defense lawyer. He is one of the youngest attorneys to successfully argue before the United States Supreme Court in the modern era and has obtained acquittals on many high profile cases. He is a "natural" in front of a jury and is often achieve what is considered "impossible" for his clients. I'm proud to have him as a friend and law partner."
"I strongly endorse this lawyer. Jimmy has been one of our community's leading criminal defense attorneys for over 20 years. His practice has successfully grown, and his mastery in law office practice is only exceeded by his greatest asset, jury trial litigation. In front of a jury, Jimmy's years of experience, combined with his charismatic manner, present a compelling presence to the jury. He has argued cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, Louisiana Supreme Court and in many other jurisdictions, but his most persuasive stage is the opportunity to work with a jury of 12 people, good and true. Here he is a true zen master and without peer. He lives the life story that most of us only tell, that 12 people, can change the world. I'm proud to have the opportunity to work for his firm and with him as my mentor in helping families in crisis."
